Rockstar has announced that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is making its way to iPad soon, in a graphically-updated, high-definition version of the game that was previously released for the DS, PSP, iPhone, and iPod touch.
The HD iPad version will include the same features developed specifically for the previous iPhone and iPod touch versions, including different difficulty modes, the iTunes customizable radio station (Independence Radio), and full Multi Touch interface controls. Read more »

A specialized iPad rendition of Rocktstar's Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is due "later this month," Take-Two CEO Ben Feder revealed during a conference call today.
Though an iPhone and iPod touch edition of the game is already available and playable on the iPad, the iPad version will likely sport enhancements to take advantage of the larger screen and beefier hardware, much like Civilization Revolution. Read more »

Rockstar's top-down open-world murder and gang warfare simulator Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars arrived on iTunes for iPhone and iPod Touch priced at $10.
Originally scheduled for release in fall 2009, the 188MB port is controlled by on-screen buttons and packs the touch-based minigames of the original DS version. Read more »

As it gears up to release Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on PSP come October 20, Rockstar has issued another set of screenshots from the portable open-world.
Slated to arrive as both a physical retail UMD and a digital PlayStation Store download, the PSP edition of Chinatown Wars includes new missions and enhanced graphics over the Nintendo DS version that debuted earlier in the year. As for the DS' various touch-controlled mini-games, they've been tweaked with more traditional controls on PSP.

The well-known Grand Theft Auto franchise will be making the leap to iPhone and iPod Touch this fall with a port of Rockstar Leed's Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.

Following the recent announcement that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will hit PSP October 20, developer Rockstar has now issued screenshots of the enhanced port.
Arriving as both a physical UMD and a PlayStation Store digital download, the PSP release of Chinatown Wars is said to pack numerous improvements over the Nintendo DS original, including new missions, upscaled graphics and better animation.

While analysts had predicted that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars would see first month sales of anywhere from 200K to 450K units, sales-tracking group NPD has revealed that Rockstar's Nintendo DS exclusive sold far under those expectations.
From its release on March 17 to the end of NPD's tracking period on April 4, the mature-rated title sold a mere 89,000 units in the US, the firm confirmed with Joystiq. Read more »

Two industry analysts have filed vastly different predictions for the US sales of Rockstar's highly-rated Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, a game seen as an important indicator of whether Mature-rated titles can sell well on the Nintendo DS.
EEDAR analyst Jesse Divinich today pegged March sales of the game at only 200,000 units, saying that while it will be a profitable title for Rockstar, other publishers will not see the performance as encouraging. Read more »

With high marks coming in for Rockstar's first outing on the Nintendo DS, the just-released Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, analysts are expecting portable gamers to grab up several million copies of the title by the end of the year.
"If the title's subsequent reviews are consistent with the initial critical response, 'Chinatown Wars' would be the highest rated title on the DS to date," said Cowen Group analyst Doug Creutz. Read more »

Rockstar celebrated today's release of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (DS) with a new bit of gameplay footage, demonstrating a selection of the game's weapons.
It's been garnering rave reviews, and based off my time with the game, I have to say they're well deserved. I wasn't expecting much from the Nintendo DS iteration, but I'm really impressed by what Rockstar Leeds and North pulled off with the hardware. More importantly, it's just plain old fun--the atmosphere and feel of the series is spot-on. Read more »
