A website in South Africa supposedly has gotten its hands on a early copy of a press release that officially announced Gran Turismo 6 for PlayStation 3 for the 2013 holiday season. And lo and behold, it proved to be real. "I'd like to announce today that we are developing GT 6 for the holiday season this year on the PlayStation 3," series Kazunori Yamauchi said, according to PlayStation's official Twitter account.

Looks like the official reveal of Gran Turismo 6 is set to happen next week. On May 15th, Sony plans on "celebrating 15 years of Gran Turismo" at the Silverstone Circuit. "At the event, Kazunori Yamauchi will also be making some exciting announcements about the future of the brand," the PlayStation.Blog teases.
Developer Polyphony Digital has made no secret its plans to make GT6. However, the big question has been: what platform will it launch on?

Soon after PlayStation 4 was announced, a Sony exec accidentally outed Gran Turismo 6. Curiously, he referred to it as a PS3 game, not a launch title for Sony's upcoming console. New retail listings also refer to GT6 as a PS3 game, suggesting the loose-lipped exec was probably telling the truth.
