Electronic Arts today announced that a release day patch will be waiting for The Godfather 2 when the game hits stores next month.
The update will introduce Don Control, adding a birds-eye view to the game's four multiplayer modes. As the Don, you will be able to recruit other players to join your family, giving them a cut of your profits.You can then go against other players to win the money they gained in the singleplayer campaign. Should you lose, any money you placed on the game will be removed from your singleplayer account. Read more »

Electronic Arts announced today that EA Redwood Shores' open world action sequel The Godfather II has gone gold.

Following its recent delay of the game, Electronic Arts has set a new date for The Godfather 2.Originally expected February 24, the game will now be in North American stores April 7. The European release will follow April 10.
Developed by EA Redwood Shores, The Godfather 2 will be released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Originally expected February 24, Electronic Arts has delayed the release of The Godfather 2 (PC, PS3, X360). In announcing its financial results today, the company noted the game is now expected during the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2010, which runs from April 1 until June 30.

The Don's View is easily the most interesting aspect of EA Redwood's otherwise-dull Godfather sequel. It's a sort of Risk-style metagame in which players must allocate guards and family henchmen to guard or attack territory in the open world. The following trailer explains.

After months of maintaining a non-specific "February 2009" release date, Electronic Arts today confirmed the North American release of its action game sequel The Godfather 2 will ship February 24.
Developed by EA Redwood Stores, The Godfather 2 keeps the open-world action gameplay from the first game, while adding a "Don's View" strategy meta-game on top of it allowing for gang control, planning of hits and territory defense among other things. Read more »

It's always a little embarrassing to watch a veteran actor like Robert Duvall being asked about something like "The Don's View." We know he's only there to pick up a check. He doesn't care. We don't care. But here it is, anyway.

Electronic Arts has released a new trailer from its Redwood Shores studio's work on The Godfather II, the open-world action sequel taking place after the timeline of the Godfather movies. The new trailer previews the game's 1960s Miami and Havana locales alongside plenty of violence set to the tune of the Rat Pack classic "Ain't that a Kick in the Head."
The Godfather II, with plenty of head-kicking and an RTS-like "Don's View" meta-game, lands on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in February 2009. Read more »
