Ghostbusters Bursting Onto to PSP, PSP Go

Nostalgia-fest Ghostbusters: The Video Game has today been revealed for the PSP and PSP Go, handled by developer of the PlayStation 2 and Wii versions Red Fly Studios and due in November, with publisher Atari's press site listing a date of November 3.

The ghost-buster hit PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS2, Wii and DS in June, commended by reviews for capturing the spirit of the films but often criticised for lacklustre gameplay. Read more »

Ghostbusters Demo on Xbox Live Now, PS3 Soon

Today is apparently the day to release demos of games that debuted in June, as a downloadable demo of Ghostbusters can now be found in the Xbox Live Marketplace for North America, with a downloadable PlayStation 3 demo also on the way.

Currently only available to Xbox Live Gold members--a restriction that generally lifts after a week--the Xbox 360 demo weighs in at 799 MB. The PlayStation 3 demo of Terminal Reality's latest is expected to hit Europe, and quite possibly North America, later today. Read more »

Ghostbusters Multiplayer Skipped PC to Make Console Versions 'The Best That They Could Be'

The decision to exclude multiplayer support from the PC version of Ghostbusters was a result of lacking resources and a desire to make the console editions "the best that they could be," Dan Irish--CEO of multiplayer developer Threewave--has explained.

Ghostbusters Trailer: The Nintendo DS Version

We've seen the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. We've seen the gameplay of the Wii release and the graphics of the PlayStation 2 edition. And now, care of publisher Atari, we get a look at Red Fly's iteration of Ghostbusters for the Nintendo DS.

The Nintendo DS edition arrives in North America alongside the PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii releases on June 16. Europe gets the PS2 and PS3 versions on June 19, with the remaining iterations following later in the year. A PSP edition is slated for the fall. Read more »

New Ghostbusters Trailer Shows Off Multiplayer

A new trailer for the Ghostbusters game--viewable after the break--has surfaced over at GameTrailers, showcasing the online multiplayer modes found in the title.

While Terminal Reality handled the single-player component for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Ghostbusters, the crew over at Threewave was tasked with the multiplayer aspect. Red Fly developed the PS2, Wii and DS editions of the game. Read more »

Ghostbusters Hitting PlayStation First in Europe, Coming to PSP This Fall

The European release schedule for the impending Ghostbusters game became a little complicated today, with the title now receiving a staggered release in the territory.

Unlike North America, which gets PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS versions of the game on June 16, Europe will only receive the PS2 and PS3 editions on June 19. The remaining console versions will hit Europe later in the year, MCV was told. Read more »

Ghostbusters Intro Conjures 80s Magic

The opening cinematic for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Ghostbusters has appeared as a GameTrailers exclusive. Be prepared for a load of nostalgia, complete with a theme song most veterans of the 1980s know far too well.

No longer content with Terminal Reality's PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Ghostbusters getting all the video love, publisher Atari has provided a new trailer that focuses on the gameplay and graphics found in Red Fly's upcoming Wii release.

All editions of Ghostbusters, including Red Fly's DS and PS2 iterations, arrive June 16.

Threewave Developing Ghostbusters Multiplayer

Shacknews has learned that developer Threewave Software is building the multiplayer component for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Terminal Reality's Ghostbusters.

"At Threewave we're working on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of multiplayer," said Threewave product manager Stephane Morichere-Matte.
