It's been a long time coming, but the iPad edition of turn-based tactics 'em up Frozen Synapse is finally upon us. It boasts cross-platform play which not only lets you fight people on other platforms, but lets you play your turns across other devices too.
Mode 7's tip-top turn-based tactics 'em up Frozen Synapse is coming to PlayStation 3 and Vita later this year, altered in mysterious ways to become Frozen Synapse Tactics. LittleBigPlanet Vita co-developer Double Eleven is making, teasing that it'll "reinvent" the original's lovely looks (shown above).

DLC often runs the risk of splintering a multiplayer community, but Mode 7 Games is cannily and kindly dodging that with the 'Red' expansion for Frozen Synapse. Released yesterday for $9.99, Red adds campaign co-op, more missions, a new multiplayer mode, a riot shield unit and more--which anyone can play with as long as the other player has bought the DLC.

Mode 7's tip-top top-down tactical game Frozen Synapse is deploying to iPad, the English indie has announced. The new kneetop edition will support cross-platform play with the original PC, Mac and Linux versions.
The iPad version will enter beta "shortly," Mode 7 says, but the price and release date are not due to be announced until next year.

Indie developer Mode 7 Games has announced that the beta version of its PC simultaneous turn-based tactical title Frozen Synapse is now available to all who have pre-ordered.
The Frozen Synapse puts players in charge of a small squad, attempting to outwit the enemy in turn-based action. Both sides' turns, however, are then played out simultaneously in real-time--similar to Blendo Games' Flotilla. Read more »
