A number of IO Interactive co-founders have left the Eidos-owned Hitman, Freedom Fighter and Kane & Lynch developer to form a new studio under the name of Reto-Moto.
No projects have been announced, though the company noted it is "committed to redefining the online multi-player space."
Among the company's staff are Hitman director Jacob Andersen, previous IO VP David Guldbrandsen, former lead character designer Jesper Vorsholt Jorgensen, and old sound engineering lead Martin Pollas. All were co-founders of IO Interactive. Read more »

Also gold today is Freedom Fighters, the new third person squad action game from Hitman developer IO Interactive. The game will ship September 23 for PC, Xbox, PS2 and GameCube.

Electronic Arts has just released the Freedom Fighters demo, allowing you to try out IO Interactive's new squad based third person action game. The demo is a 75mb download and contains a single level.
Level: Post Office Mission: Capture the Post Office, which was overrun by the Soviets and is now being used as an operations base. Defeat the Soviets, and raise the American flag to successfully complete the mission. Your sub-mission--blow up a Soviet Fuel Depot.
Fighters: Recruit and lead up to three Freedom Fighters in a battle to capture the Post Office. The final game allows you to recruit up to 12 fighters. Arm yourself with over 7 different weapons such as the AK-47, sniper rifle, and the Molotov Cocktail.

There is a brief Freedom Fighters Q&A on GameGossip this morning. IO Interactive's lead designer Mads Prahm is asked to describe the game, explain the mission completion style, the orders you can give to your squad, weapons you have available, and the difference between outdoor and indoor combat.

GameSpot has a new article on Freedom Fighters, the IO Interactive game that was previously known as Freedom: Soldiers of Liberty. The preview offers a bit of info on who you are and what you do, the title's gameplay and the possible lack of multiplayer on PC even though the console versions have it.
