Microsoft has announced a new deal that will partner the Forza Motorsport brand with BBC's Top Gear, which "integrate the Top Gear brand in future versions of Forza Motorsport products," beginning with the previously rumored Ultimate Collection set to launch later this year.
"Bringing together Top Gear and Forza Motorsport is a natural fit," Turn 10 franchise director Dan Greenawalt said in the announcement press release. "Top Gear is all about automotive passion and playing around with cars which is exactly what we deliver with Forza Motorsport games. We are looking forward to collaborating with their team to bring some of what they do so well on television to our game design process." Read more »

If an OFLC listing is to be believed, Microsoft is poised to re-release an "Ultimate Collection" of its popular, first-part racing title.
Yesterday, Joystiq spotted a listing on the Australian rating board's website for Forza 3: Ultimate Collection. Presumably, the re-release would include most, if not all of the game's numerous downloadable content "packs." According to the listing, the game was submitted for classification on August 19, 2010. Racing fans looking for a distraction before Microsoft's Kinect allows them to walk around their virtual garage can now download a new set of "World Class" vehicles for Forza Motorsport 3.

Turn 10 Studios, the developer behind Microsft's popular Forza Motorsport series, has demonstrated a new racing game that uses the Xbox 360's upcoming Kinect add-on.
Due in 2011, the game will see players holding their hands out an controlling their car with an imaginary steering wheel.
The company promised, "radical new car experiences, experiences that could not be delivered until now," such as being able to walk around a car and hold your hand over its parts to get a more detailed view, or literally climbing into a car and starting it up. Read more »

The three downloadable add-ons bundled with all new copies of Forza Motorsport 3 (Xbox 360) are now available for individual purchase, along with the "VIP Membership Car Pack" formerly exclusive to the Limited Edition.
Publishers have recently begun to embrace the practice of bundling downloadable content--in the form of a one-time use code--with new copies to fight piracy and used sales. Read more »

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) announced the winners for the 13th annual Interactive Achievement Awards yesterday. Developer Naughty Dog's cinematic action-adventure, Uncharted 2, was the undisputed star of the show, running away with ten different awards.

Another bit of downloadable content for Forza Motorsport 3 arrived today--this one adding two layouts of the Nurburgring Grand Prix Circuit--alongside word that Turn 10's Xbox 360 exclusive racer has now sold over two million copies since it hit retailers in October 2009.
Priced at 400 Microsoft Points ($5), the 134MB "Nurburgring Grand Prix Circuit Track Pack" is now available through the Xbox Live Marketplace, with an assortment of media showing off the virtual recreation. Read more »

Forza Motorsport 3 developer Turn 10 has joined forces with Gawker-owned automotive enthusiast blog Jalopnik, allowing fans to help select nine of the vehicles to be added to the Xbox 360 exclusive racer over the summer.
Encompassing a total of 120 possible additions, the voting runs from January 25 through January 29, with the various selections broken down into multiple rounds and groups. Read more »

Forza Motorsport 3 has sold over one million copies since being released for Xbox 360 on October 7, developer Turn 10 declared today.
Turn 10's statistical swaggering continues with the boast that "the Forza community has collectively logged over 6.6 million man hours playing online in more than 64 million connected sessions while driving over 590 million miles," which for those who can only think in cosmic terms is apparently "more than three trips from the Earth to the Sun and back!" The 33MB Hyundai Car Pack adds the drift-tastic Rhys Millen Racing Red Bull Hyundai Genesis Coupe, speed-tuned HKS Genesis Coupe and developer Turn 10's custom Forza Motorsport 3 Genesis Coupe, as well as Genesis races for Career mode. Read more »
