Wii Remote Plus with Motion Plus Built-in Available November 9

Along with those limited "while supplies last" edition Mario 25th Anniversary Wii and DSi XL bundles, Nintendo also plans to have a Wii Remote Plus and FlingSmash Bundle in stores across North America on November 9. Confirmed to be in development back in December, the Wii Remote Plus combines the add-on Motion Plus module and a standard Wii Remote in one.

The new controller returns to a more comfortable, compact size compared to the old combination of Wii Remote and Motion Plus. It will sell for $39.99 separately and will also become the standard Wii controller in all hardware boxes going forward. Read more »

Nintendo Confirms Wii Remote Plus with Built-in MotionPlus

Nintendo has confirmed the existence of the Wii Remote Plus--which has MotionPlus sensor built-in--at its press conference in Japan. The device was spotted on advance box-art for the upcoming Nintendo-published, MotionPlus-requiring FlingSmash last week.

The box-art was removed and Nintendo told Shacknews it had "nothing to announce at this time," when asked for comment. The Wii Remote Plus will presumably be bundled with FlingSmash, which releases on November 7. Read more »

Rumor: New Wii Remote with Built-in MotionPlus

NintendoLife spotted a possible update to the Wii Remote when retailer GameStop published (and removed) a page for the upcoming Nintendo published title FlingSmash.

If true, it is believed to be the Wii Remote Plus, which includes built-in MotionPlus technology. FlingSmash requires MotionPlus so it does make sense. Nintendo has previously bundled games with the add-on module, but this could represent a shift to an all-new line of Wii Remotes. Read more »
