The men of Final Fantasy XV revealed

Apparently, Square Enix's secrecy regarding the upcoming Final Fantasy action game was due to the company's decision to move to next-gen. According to game director Tetsuya Nomura, they had decided to move to next-gen two years ago. That's the same time the company announced that Versus XIII would be delayed, suggesting that "a number of incredible things" would be incorporated into the game.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII started as a PS3-exclusive. Then, it magically resurfaced as a PS4 game during yesterday's PlayStation conference. Today, Square Enix held a separate event to confirm that the newly-rebranded Final Fantasy XV is also coming to Xbox One.

"We would like to announce today that we are porting Final Fantasy XV to Xbox One as well," they announced. The game is being developed on DirectX 11 technology, which will make porting between the two platforms easy. And while no PC version has been announced, given its use of DX11, we wouldn't be surprised if one is forthcoming.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Registration Fuels Sequel Rumors

Final Fantasy XIII may be seeing an official sequel, if a new domain is any indication. Siliconera reports that the domain name "Finalfantasy13-2game.com" has been registered, fueling rumors that we'll see the continued story of Lightning and her friends.
