For a limited time, purchasers of the Xbox 360 version of Raven's time-bending first person shooter Singularity will receive a mail-in voucher for Radical Entertainment's super-powered open-world action game Prototype.
Singularity will be released on June 29, 2010 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Prototype, meanwhile, was released on those three platforms in June 2009.

Overall videogame industry sales dropped 31% in June when compared to last year, as Radical's open-world title Prototype topped the North American software sales chart.
"While this is solid performance for new IP, it's a relatively modest sales figure for any game capturing the top spot for the month," said NPD analyst Anita Frazier of Prototype's roughly 600k+ sales across both platforms. Read more »

EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich singled out the war between rival open-world action titles Infamous and Prototype in his retail sales preview today, estimating that Prototype will eventually win out over its rival by a sales margin of 90 percent.
Sucker Punch's PlayStation 3-exclusive Infamous was released on May 26, while Radical's similar, yet multiplatform title Prototype (PC, 360, PS3) launched on June 6. Read more »

Those waiting for a deal to give Prototype a shot didn't have to wait long: Amazon's gaming deal of the day is a $20 savings on all three versions of Radical's open-world action title.
The sale drops the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions to $40, while the PC version has been reduced to $30. Read more »

Similar to the issue that plagued Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction back in 2007, those who pick up the PlayStation 3 edition of Radical's just-released super-powered action game may find themselves unable to start the game due to a bug.
The problem can crop up when users attempt to install the PlayStation 3 version, with the game sometimes telling folks that they don't have sufficient space to install the necessary files, even if they have more than enough free space. Read more »

Citing anonymous sources, a new report from Variety's Cut Scene Blog claims that studio owner Activision Blizzard has Prototype developer Radical working on a new Spider-Man game, with High Moon, The Bourne Conspiracy folks, on Transformers.
High Moon's Transformers game won't be based on any particular movie, Variety claims, and should be expected to arrive at some point in 2010. Activision has previously announced that the game for the second movie is due this June. Read more »
