The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Tips & Tricks
-
Easy Alchemy level
Steal a mortar and pestle. Steal a lot of food items and turn them into potions. It should not take too long before you reach the Master Of Alchemy level.
-
Jail Sneak increase
Whenever you get in jail, go into sneak mode. Move around for awhile and your Sneak level will rise.
-
Make stolen items authentic
When you steal items, most of the merchants will not buy them. Use the following trick to authenticate them. Get in the jail and escape. Take your items authenticated or pay for your days in jail and you will have the items authenticated again.
-
People switch beds
Wait near a place where there are more than one person sleeping. They will all get up at the same time and may switch beds with each other. They might even walk down to another floor or to the other side of the room just to go to another bed.
-
Mages Guild in Bruma - Skeletons
When you are in the mages guild you will get a quest to go check out the mages guild in Bruma. When you check it out it will be full of skeletons and they will gang up on you. so go out side and let the patrolling guards take care of them.
-
Duplicate Items
(This does not work on all items) if you attack with any weapon then pause the game try to unequip some arrows it will say (you cannot unequip while attacking) then drop any item and it will be duplicated by the number of arrows you have.
-
Getting Easy Items
Upon purchasing the house in Skingrad, go to the top floor. In the room will be a deer mantle. Jump on top of the mantle, then jump again onto the loft design in the back corner. You will find an old note that has a riddle on it which leads to a treasure.
-
Easy leveling
You can do this at any bed you can sleep in. First you click on any spell and keep using it which will increase the level of that skill and your real exp. Keep doing this and when you get low on mana sleep for 1 hour, which will refill your mana. This is easy for getting higher on the skills you want. (NOTE: Destruction spells won't work for this)
-
Mythic Dawn
On the Main Quest, when you have to go to Dagon's Shrine you can become a member of the Mythic Dawn. At the first door in the cave, there is a Dunmer that will ask you if you want to join, say yes. He will take all your items, so either drop them before or kill him later. He will take you directly to the shrine, and present you before Mankar. Now he will ask you to prove yourself by killing a prisoner, do so and become an alcolyte. But after you take the Xarxes you are no longer one of them.
-
Free Horse
If you go right outside the north gate of Anvil, you will see a stable called "Horse Whisperer". If you go and hop on one of the horses that is considered stealing, and you will be arreasted. But, if you hop on and ride away in a flash the foot soldiers will not be able to catch you. There are a few mounted but you can ride past them. You will be wanted though so be careful.
-
Getting Lock Picks
Join the thieves guild and talk to any of the Fences. They have 100 picks at a clip. They restock often as well. (Nocturnal Shrine in particular)
-
Thieves Guild Diary
In the beginning of the Thieves Guild you need to steal a diary try killing her with your sword in the room where she finds the diary, and when she is unconscious. As she was getting up I pickpocketed her and got the diary.
-
Launch items from chair
Take a large item and set it on a chair. Then, sit in the chair. You will launch the item across the room. Try this watermelons.
-

-
Cure for vampiricy
This is why you need to be allowed in the University. Go in and talk to the mage. He will tell you to talk to a man in Skingrad. Do as he says and run errands for whoever you need to talk to. Eventually you will be allowed to get rid of your vampiricy.
-
Good armor
At the beginning of the game after the King's convoy is attacked, quickly take the dead guard's katana and armor. This will make slaughtering rats and defeating trolls a lot easier.
-
Easy 100 Sneak
In the caverns in the game's intro, once you get into the large room with three or four goblins in it, kill the one to your immediate left. Then, go into sneak mode and sneak along the wall to the right of the way you came in. There will be a spot that will "catch" your character but he will continue to move in place. Set the analog stick on something so it will hold itself, leave the room for a while, and then continue the quest once you reach the sneak level you want.
-
Item Duplication Glitch
To duplicate almost any item, first get two or more magic scrolls of the same type, depending on how many duplicate items you want to create. Be aware that this trick wont work with stolen scrolls. Go to your inventory and select the scroll twice, then drop the item that you wish to duplicate from your inventory. When you exit your inventory and return to the game you'll find your duplicate items on the ground.
-
Unlimited Gold
Go to Dorian's house in the Temple District in Imperial City. Use a paralyze spell or scroll to paralyze him, then pickpocket him as much as you want. His gold will never run out.
-
Unlimited Arrows
Go to the Imperial City Arena. One of the combatants will be shooting arrows. You can take these arrows as he shoots them and you'll have an unending supply of arrows.
