After declaring war with Electronic Arts over its mixed martial arts game, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White has backed down on his threat to ban any fighters from the league should they choose to appear in EA Sports MMA.
"Nah, some people have crossed over," White told Kotaku when asked if he was still serious about banning fighters. "But believe me this is still going to continue to be a battle. ...they're the me-toos. The UFC game is the original game." Read more »

A host of screenshots and a brand new trailer for the upcoming mixed martial arts fighter, EA SPORTS MMA, have stepped into the ring.
The media shows off some more of the authentic environments from the included premier Strikeforce league revealed back in November, as well as some unique fighter entrance animations and the expected smattering of hulky dudes punching each other in their respective grills. Read more »

EA has celebrated its announcement that mixed martial arts promotion Strikeforce will feature as a premier league in EA Sports MMA by releasing the mix 'em up's first trailer.
The Strikeforce cage will host bouts with Strikeforce stars including Jake Shields, Brett Rogers, Fedor Emelianenko, Jason "Mayhem" Miller and Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal, with the Strikeforce announcer, commentators and ref "Big John" McCarthy also starring. Read more »

Close to five months after the game was announced, Electronic Arts has issued the first media from its upcoming MMA fighter.

World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko is among the first real-life fighters confirmed to be in EA Sports' upcoming MMA video game, the combatant and publisher jointly announced today.
Exactly how this move will affect Fedor's ongoing negotiations to potentially join the UFC remains unclear, though it's unlikely to be considered a plus as league president Dana White has threatened to ban any fighter from the UFC if they sign with EA. Read more »

Following EA Sports' announcement of a new mixed martial arts videogame, a move that comes on the heels of THQ's successful release of UFC 2009 Undisputed, UFC president Dana White now says that any UFC fighter to sign a licensing deal with EA will be kicked from the fighting league.
"EA doesn't give a [expletive] about mixed martial arts," said White in a series of expletive-laden comments made to MMAJunkie.com. "They made that very clear." Read more »

Electronic Arts today announced "EA Sports MMA," a mixed martial arts title in development for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a release slated for 2010.
EA Tiburon--best known for its work on the Madden NFL, NCAA Football andTiger Wood PGA Tour series, is working on the game, EA Sports chief Peter Moore added.
In an accompanying press release, the company promised that the game "will feature the most authentic, intense and broad mixed martial arts experience to date - complete with a vast array of top fighters and fighting styles from around the world."

Developer Blue Castle Games and publisher 2K Sports continue to pull back the curtain on their over-the-top baseball sequel The Bigs 2 with the below trailer, which includes footage of home run pinball, "all new mini games," fireworks, and ...Godzilla?
The Bigs 2 hits PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and PSP on July 7.

Prince Fielder, son of baseball great Cecil Fielder, has been named the cover athlete for The Bigs 2, and 2K has marked the occasion by releasing a bit of footage from the extreme sports title.
The Bigs 2 is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii and PSP this summer.

Developed again by Blue Castle, the studio that's also handling Dead Rising 2, the over-the-top baseball game will hit PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PSP this summer. Read more »

A sequel to 2K Sports' well-received arcade baseball title The Bigs is scheduled for release this summer, according to a trailer included on MLB 2K9 and noticed by IGN.
No platform details or gameplay details were mentioned, but Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith, Wade Boggs, Roberto Clemente, and Reggie Jackson were confirmed for inclusion in the sequel's lineup. Read more »
