If you've picked up the expandalone Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen or are still bashing away at the original Dragon's Dogma, whoa there, Nelly! Hold up a second! A recent patch has introduced a save data corruption bug to both games, Capcom warns, so you'll want to back up your saves somewhere safe until it's fixed. I'd advise simply stopping playing for now to be safe and avoid the hassle, but what do I know?

Capcom casually announced a Dragon's Dogma expansion named Dark Arisen back in September, but didn't have much to say about it. Now it's piped up to reveal Dark Arisen is an expanded version of the original game, packing a "huge" new area with gobs of new enemies, along with new skills, items, and more.

Capcom recently added an easy mode to Dragon's Dogma, but if you wished for the opposite, you're in luck. In a bumper Dogma-o-rama at the Tokyo Game Show, Capcom announced that not only is the action-RPG getting a Hard Mode for free, a title update will also add a special Speedrun Mode. Oh, and it's making an expansion named Dark Arisen, which we don't know much about.

Sure, Dragon's Dogma received a positive reception from critics and fans. But what if you want your epic journey to be more of a walk in the park? Capcom has announced a patch that will give an easier option to cowards and adults without a lot of free time.

Dragon's Dogma already offers plenty of extra missions and gear as downloadable content, but game director Hideaki Itsuno has hinted that more is on the way. In an interview, he issued a vague warning not to offload your copy just yet. Because (come on) why would you think Capcom is done with DLC?

E3 predictions! You love 'em! You hate 'em! You hate loving them? Whatever the case, The two Jeffs, and Insomniac's James Stevenson join Garnett to offer up plenty of forum fodder in anticipation of the big event next week. The crew tackles the big three--Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo--in the order of their respective press conferences. Does Xbox as a living room entertainment gateway give anyone goose bumps? Can Sony shake the Vita bottle hard enough to make a genie finally appear? Can Nintendo successfully answer "What would Mario do?" Of course, there's also time to talk some about the design plans for refining Diablo 3, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, and Dragon's Dogma before wrapping it up with Finishing Moves.

Combine the open-world exploration of Skyrim, the lightning-quick combat of Kingdoms of Amalur, and the player-punishing difficulty of Dark Souls, and you've got Dragon's Dogma...sort of. While it does borrow from recent favorites in the genre, Capcom's answer to the action-RPG also takes a stab at some original ideas. A steep learning curve and lack of polish occasionally sully the experience, but fans of the style who've already exhausted the aforementioned titles will find more than enough here to lure them in for a play-through or two.

The idea that we don't own games we buy, merely a license to use them, is a contentious one. On-disc 'downloadable content,' where the data for DLC is included on the disc but we must pay to unlock it, draws attention to this in an ugly way, and is rarely popular. Capcom's a frequent instigator here, but now the publisher's taking a look at on-disc DLC and "re-evaluating" its stance.
