The mysterious countdown that recently appeared on a number of BioWare sites has come to a close, revealing "a week long series of online auctions featuring over 400 prizes" the Dragon Age and Mass Effect developer calls the BioWare Bazaar.

Dragon Age: Origins Expansion Media Delivers Justice

With the Dragon Age: Origins expansion pack 'Awakening' hitting North American retail shelves on Tuesday, BioWare has unveiled yet another of its characters with screenshots and a trailer.

"Not all the denizens of the Fade identify with darker emotions like rage and pride. Some embody the nobler qualities found in humanity: faith, hope, compassion" and old 'Justice' here, BioWare explains. "A victim of magic gone awry, Justice has been torn from the Fade against his will and trapped in the body of a dead Grey Warden. Lost and disoriented, he seeks a guide to help make sense of this alien world and demonstrate what it means to be human." Hey, that could be you! Read more »

Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Media Builds Up The Architect

BioWare has released new Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening screenshots and a trailer showing the fantasy RPG's expansion pack villainous Architect, a scheming intelligent Darkspawn.

"The Architect is the first darkspawn to develop a will of his own," BioWare explains, "an unusual outcast who seems not to be subject to the call of the Old Gods, nor to the other darkspawn compulsions." How should adventurers approach such a being? Bioware advises that "treating him as anything other than what he is--a darkspawn--would be folly." They probably know what they're talking about. Dragon Age ...Something Coming February 1

Tucked away within retail copies of the Dragon Age: Origins expansion Awakening is an indication that ....something is coming on February 1, 2011, 1UP reveals.

Exactly what that something is remains unclear--it could be anything from another expansion to a full-fledged sequel to a new book--though it's likely to be that mysterious "Dragon Age Title TBA" publisher Electronic Arts recently said would hit PC, console and handheld in that timeframe. Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening, the first expansion to BioWare's epic-RPG, will be released on March 16, 2010, which leaves us plenty of time to meet new characters in trailers and screenshots. This week, we have Mhairi, a glory-seeking woman that wishes to assist the Grey Wardens as they fight to retake the land following the events of the original game.

Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Media Introduces Suicidal Dwarf Sigrun

New Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening screenshots and a trailer reveal the grim ally Sigrun, a casteless dwarf determined to die in battle and so leave the shamed Legion of the Dead in BioWare's RPG expansion pack.

A suicidal party member might sound like hard work but BioWare assures that Sigrun "craves a chance to prove she is more than a worthless gutter-rat" and "also has a huge chip on her shoulder, and she plans on taking out as many enemies as possible" before she snuffs it--handy when you're facing ghost dragons and intelligent Darkspawn. Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Media Introduces Velanna the Racist Elf

New media for BioWare's upcoming RPG expansion, Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening, is here to introduce Velanna, a key character who will accompany players on a new quest in the land of Amaranthine.

As a Dalish elf, Velanna doesn't exactly trust humans. In fact, she despises them, and is guaranteed to be a handful for any Grey Warden she meets. Velanna can also turn trees into Ent-like hulks of destruction. Read more »

New Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Trailer and Screens: Please, Think of 'The Children'

Some new media for the upcoming Dragon Age: Origins 'Awakening' expansion is here to introduce 'The Children,' a new set of not-so-adorable foes that give a hellacious new meaning to the notion of daycare.

There's no word as to who birthed the monstrosities, but the press release informs us that, "Disgusting, sharp teeth, covered in slime, and foul smelling are a few ways to describe 'The Children.'" In other words, they're quite similar to regular kids. Read more »

New Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Trailer and Screens Introduce Anders the Mage

Electronic Arts and developer Bioware have released a new trailer and screens to introduce the incorrigible mage Anders from 'Awakening,' the first official expansion for the Dragon Age: Origins.

Anders makes his snarky debut when 'Awakening" comes out on March 16th for all versions -- PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 -- of Dragon Age: Origins. Accompanying the new media is an official description of Anders, who seems almost guaranteed to agitate any self-righteous do-gooders he encounters. Read more »

Dragon Age: Origins Expansion Media Shows Ghost Dragon, 'Return to Ostagar' DLC Hits PC & Xbox 360

Expansion packs are meant to build upon their original game, and in the case of Dragon Age: Origin's expansion it seems that one improvement is having a splendid ghost dragon instead of some dorky normal dragon.

Spectral reptile the Queen of the Black Marsh will seemingly rule over a bog of the dead--proving that monarchy isn't all a bed of roses. The $40 expansion for BioWare's fantasy RPG will be released for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 worldwide on March 16. Read more »
