Doctor Who: The Adventure Games Finally Available Outside of the UK, Exclusively on Direct2Drive

Doctor Who fans outside of the UK can now (legally) download the first two chapters in the episodic adventure game, featuring the latest Doctor and his spunky, redheaded companion. Available exclusively on Direct2Drive, "City of the Daleks" and "Blood of the Cybermen" are available at a bundled price of $4.95 (via BigDownload). The Sumo Digital developed titles were originally released for free on the official BBC website for UK residents in June. Two more chapters of Doctor Who: The Adventure Games staring Matt Smith as the legendary, alien Time Lord are currently in development.

First Doctor Who Adventure Game Warps Into UK for Free, on Sale Elsewhere in July

'City of the Daleks,' the first chapter in the BBC's episodic Doctor Who adventure game series is available now for free if you are in the UK, Rock, Paper, Shotgun spotted.

"If you live outside the UK, the first Adventure Game will be available to purchase in early July," the Beeb notes, promising "We will have more information shortly on release dates and where you can buy them." This decision is most probably due to the fact that the BBC is publicly funded in the UK and often licenses the worldwide rights. Read more »

Doctor Who Adventure Game Gets Release Date

The first of the free-to-play Doctor Who adventure games inspired by the popular sci-fi television series will be released on June 5, broadcaster BBC has revealed.

Free Doctor Who Adventure Game Series Announced; Broken Sword Creator Onboard

Popular British sci-fi television series Doctor Who is to become a free downloadable episodic adventure game, the British Broadcasting Corporation announced today.

The two-hour episodes will put players in charge of time-travelling alien The Doctor and his new companion Amy, thrown into unusual adventures across the far corners of time and space to solve mysteries and defeat foes including the sinister Cybermen. Read more »
