Capcom recently cited its earnings for the fiscal year that ended on March 31, and fell short of its targets. The company's analysis concluded that this was due to a drop in quality due to overseas outsourcing, and that poor retail sales ended up hurting its digital content projections by extension.

When Ninja Theory revealed the reimagined Dante to the world, fans didn't take kindly, loudly complaining and posting all sorts of nasty insecure and homophobic diatribe on the internet. Perhaps the biggest point of contention surrounding DmC was Dante's hair, which was no longer white like in Capcom's original Devil May Cry games.
Oddly, the entire controversy could have been avoided if Capcom had accepted Ninja Theory's first attempts at making the character. Ninja Theory visual art director Alessandro Taini showed his earliest attempts at Dante, and they all featured white hair.

DmC: Devil May Cry's "Vergil's Downfall" downloadable content is coming March 5, Capcom has announced. The DLC lets you play as Dante's twin brother, Vergil, in his own campaign that includes new weapons, combos, enemies, and locations. It also carries its own story, and judging by the title we're guessing things don't turn out so well for Dante's kin.

Look, we really liked DmC: Devil May Cry. But if the only thing holding you back from playing Ninja Theory's reboot is Dante's new look, then perhaps this DLC will make you reconsider.
A new costume pack will be available as DLC for PS3 and Xbox 360 on January 29th. Included in the add-on are three costumes: "Classic," taken from Devil May Cry 3, "Dark," and "Neo." You'll have to shell out $4 (320 Microsoft Points) for this bundle.

The first Devil May Cry was a landmark action game, pushing the genre in innovative new ways when it released in 2001. It birthed a new generation of devoted fans. Given the drastic new direction Ninja Theory is embarking with DmC: Devil May Cry, it's no surprise that fans have been skeptical of, and sometimes vocally opposed to, the reboot. While some concerns are justified, DmC not only retains the essence of the series, it does so with style.

The popular "Bloody Palace" mode will be back in DmC: Devil May Cry, but it won't be available at launch. The wave survival style mode will be coming as a free title update sometime after the January 15 launch of the game, and presumably to the PC version shortly after its own January 25 launch.

If the recent recession impressed one thing on the American subconscious, it was a healthy distrust for old money and bankers. Capcom's Devil May Cry series is probably the last you'd expect to make reference to the issue, but a new story trailer for DmC confronts it the only way it knows how: by punching it in the face.

Whenever Capcom would mention the outsourced PC port of DmC: Devil May Cry, it would couch the release in vague terms of "shortly after" the console versions. That didn't exactly leave PC fans brimming with confidence that they'd be demon-hunting anytime soon. Capcom apparently meant it, though, as the company today announced the PC version will be available as a downloadable title less than two weeks after the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 releases.

Regardless of how you feel about Ninja Theory's reboot of Devil May Cry, it's hard to deny that the studio knows how to make a cinematic game. Capcom has released a new behind-the-scenes video that showcases the actors involved in DmC's intricate cutscenes. Like Heavenly Sword and Enslaved before it, Devil May Cry will--at the very least--have some solid performances worth watching. Here, watch Louis Herthum (True Blood) and Robin Rikers (Days of our Lives) talk about their roles as some of DmC's villains.
