Continuing a trend that we can all get behind--that is, bundling great indie games and selling them for a ridiculous discount--developer Lunar Workshop has partnered with some other indies to provide a "5 for $5" bundle. The bundle is DRM-free, and all of the proceeds go directly to the developers.

Rockstar has released four new screenshots for L.A. Noire and they are quite full of characters glancing, staring, and otherwise looking at things. More trailers, please.
The game, developed by Team Bondi, is scheduled for release in the first half of 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (cue hate from PC gamers). The main character, Cole Phelps, is portrayed by Mad Men's Aaron Staton. The technology behind this is detailed in this video.

Noire, we're given a behind-the-scenes look at the facial tracking tech powering the performance of the actors involved with the title. Here's the straight poop, dames and fellas, Team Bondi--a quaint little outfit out of Australia--just released the first trailer offering what is presumably an in-engine glimpse at its upcoming, open-world title L.A. Noire. Taking place in Los Angeles during the late 1940s, the Rockstar Games published title follows a pair of detectives as they set off to solve a series of murders around the city.

2K Czech's old-timey gangster game sequel Mafia 2 won't be hitting its projected release window either, as publisher Take-Two today revealed that the game--once expected by July-- is now slated to arrive between August 1 and October 31, 2010.
That period correlates to the fourth quarter of Take Two's current fiscal year--the same time that L.A. Noire, Max Payne 3 and Civilization V are due--with Mafia 2 in development for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. As for why Mafia 2 was delayed, Take-Two CEO Ben Feder cited a focus on quality and the need for more development time. Read more »

Mostly unseen outside of a four-year-old cinematic teaser, Team Bondi's old-timey detective thriller is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The shots arrived via Game Informer, which has now confirmed that the game is due September 2010.

Team Bondi's former PlayStation 3 exclusive L.A. Noire is "apparently coming in September," according to games journalist and GameTrailers TV host Geoff Keighley.
The release window reveal came in the form of a tweet Keighley made after reading the new issue of Game Informer, which features the old-fashioned game on its cover. "It definitely sounds interesting," he added. Read more »
