Deep Down trailer remains vague, teases the future

In spite of being one of the first games ever revealed for PS4, not much is known about Capcom's online dungeon crawling game, Deep Down. Subsequent trailers have only added befuddlement, as has the revelation that the game would be free-to-play.

A "2014 Prologue" trailer from Capcom doesn't do much to make things any clearer. You'll get a peek at some co-op battling, some new monsters, and yes, what appears to be another nod at an Assassin's Creed-style future storyline of sorts.

Deep Down TGS trailer doesn't clear up much

So Capcom's Deep Down is an online action-RPG and has some weird futuristic framing narrative, but what exactly is the game and what is going on with its story? A new trailer out of the Tokyo Game Show won't answer either of those questions, but it will give you a look at knights throwing magic grenades at a dragon, and some cute little toys.

Deep Down for PS4 takes place in 2094

Deep Down, Capcom's PS4-exclusive online RPG, is a rather curious game. While you don armor and fight fire-breathing dragons, Capcom revealed that the game is actually set in New York. In the year 2094. Exactly how that works is unclear, but we wouldn't be surprised if this was Capcom's take on Assassin's Creed somehow.

According to Capcom's Yoshinoro Ono, the RPG will feature randomly generated maps in which players will have to collect memories.
