As Dead to Rights: Retribution heads out to retailers this week, publisher Namco Bandai has announced that the first premium-priced add-on for Volatile's action game.
Due in European "PAL Territories" on May 26 and then North America come June 1, the downloadable "GAC Pack" brings two new modes to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game in exchange for 400 Microsoft Points / $5. In addition, the pack includes the "Jack Pack" and "Shadow Pack" content previously only offered to those that pre-ordered. Read more »

Vice officer Jack Slate and his trusty K-9 Shadow feature prominently in a brand new (albeit brief) trailer for Volatile Games' upcoming third-person action sequel, Dead to Rights: Retribution.
Jack's on the run; there's a conspiracy for him to expose, and Grant City is rife with bad guys. Jack's dog is no slouch, either. See Shadow. See Shadow maul. Maul, Shadow, maul!

This post was originally going to be filled with vague references to Santa Buddies: The Legend of Puppy Paws, as the latest trailer for Volatile's Dead to Rights: Retribution features some bloody snippets of the game's playable canine companion.
But then I got to the end, which sees our human hero throw an enemy on the ground and then fire a rocket into his face at point-blank range, and, well, it inspired me. Read more »

The various combat systems (melee, gun and dog) of Dead to Rights: Retribution are explored in this trailer, which most likely also violates the Geneva Conventions.
Taking place before Dead to Rights II, which was itself a prequel to the original Dead to Rights, Retribution hits PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in early 2010. Reservoir Dogs developer Volatile is handling development, with creator Namco publishing. Read more »

Seems like canine companions are showing up in a lot of video games lately. Fallout 3. Fable II. And now Dead to Rights: Retribution.
Of course, Dead to Rights has always been a pet-friendly series, with Jack Slate's pal Shadow returning to hunt down enemies in this prequel. Check out a few new screenshots of Jack and Shadow below.

Though the news has been floating around for a while, Namco Bandai today made it official: the Dead to Rights series, last seen in 2005, is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360.
Due out this fall, Dead to Rights: Retribution is a prequel to past Dead to Rights games, offering a look at how protagonist Jack Slate and his canine companion Shadow met. Amusingly enough, Dead to Rights II was a prequel to the original Dead to Rights. Read more »
