Dead Rising 2's upcoming XBLA-exclusive prologue, Case Zero, has been pushed from its original release date in Japan. Andriasang reports that the delay is due to undisclosed "violent" content sneaking its way into the game's free trial, which is funny considering the nature of the product as a whole.
The questionable content will still available in the full version of Dead Rising 2: Case Zero when it eventually launches. According to Famitsu, the delay for the downloadable title will not affect the release date for the full retail Dead Rising sequel in the region. Read more »

Capcom has just announced (via press release) the upcoming Xbox 360-exclusive downloadable prequel for Dead Rising 2 will release next month for 400MS Points ($5). Dead Rising 2: Case Zero is set to arrive on August 31 and helps introduce players to the franchise's new protagonist, Chuck Greene.
Case Zero isn't the only way players can get to know the intricate lore of decimating hordes of zombies with wacky weapons, as Capcom is set to release a feature-film based on the franchise prior to the game's release. Zombrex: Dead Rising Sun marks the directorial debut of Keiji Inafune and will see a staggered release online and via Xbox Live throughout August and September. Read more »

Capcom has revealed a North American special edition for Dead Rising 2 will be available alongside the standard edition on September 28. The "Zombrex Edition" of the craft-creating, zombie-slaying sim will be available on Xbox 360 and PS3 for $79.99.
Gamers should note that some of the items included in the special edition differ between each console version.Zombie-killers on PS3 get a second Blu-ray disc with a "high-definition 24 minute 'Making of' featurette" whereas Xbox 360 owners get a second console-only disc includes the upcoming Dead Rising 2-based feature film and the "Making of" featurette. [Update: 6:10pm] As suspected, Capcom has confirmed to Shacknews that Dead Rising 2 will include all Games for Windows Live features, including achievements and online matchmaking.

The release of Blue Castle's open-world zombie-smasher Dead Rising 2 has been pushed back by four weeks to September 28, publisher Capcom has announced.
No reason is given as Capcom simply states "We are happy to confirm today that... Dead Rising 2, is set for release across North America on September 28, 2010."

Dead Rising 2's Xbox 360-exclusive "downloadable prologue" is shown off in the E3 media blast for Blue Castle's zombie-smashing game, not to mention man-mauling tigers, TNT arrows, a very practical wristwatch and the love between a father and his daughter.

Digital renditions of Playboy magazine's saline-swollen busts will feature in Blue Castle's zombie apocalypse game Dead Rising 2, publisher Capcom has announced.
Fortune City will be plastered with ad and billboard images from across the skin rag's history while "a unique and special upgrade" can be had by finding a Playboy magazine in-game--magazines replacing the original Dead Rising's books as a perks system. Read more »

Blue Castle's "zombie action" game Dead Rising 2 will feature two-person online cooperative play, publisher Capcom has confirmed.
To celebrate, the company has released a wealth of new media, including a glimpse of good old buddy-buddy action.
Coming to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Dead Rising 2 shambles its way to North American retailers on August 31. A downloadable and playable prologue will be released exclusively on Xbox 360 before then, with this artwork offering a taste. Read more »

Capcom and Blue Castle Games' killer zombie sequel Dead Rising 2 will launch in North America on August 31, it was revealed today as part of Microsoft's X10 festivities.
Japan gets the sequel on September 2 followed by Europe on September 3. All three versions of the game--PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360--are due simultaneously. Read more »

Capcom today narrowed down the release window of Dead Rising 2, vowing that the sequel it describes as "Zombie Paradise Action" will arrive sometime during 2010.
While vague--the company offered no additional details regarding dates or specific territories--the timeframe still comes as good news to zombie-slaying fanatics, as Capcom previously said it was due by March 31, 2011. Read more »
