Sony Online Entertainment has unveiled a PC Collector's Edition for its superhero MMORPG DC Universe Online, packing a statue of the bold Batman himself.

The PC-exclusive Collector's Edition--listed by retailers at $99.99--packs a 56-page "Art of DCUO" book, Issue #0 of the "DC Universe Online: Legends" comic and the statue of "the Dark Knight leaping from a building, ready to rain justice down on evildoers." Read more »

DC Universe Online Trailer Explores 'Suicide Slums'

DC Universe Online game director Chris Cao introduces the 'Suicide Slums' area of Superman's stomping grounds, Metropolis, in a new trailer for the super-MMORPG.

While Cao describes Suicide Slums as "a place you're not supposed to go, sort of an iffy, dodgy kind of place," it's also home to superhero Steel's headquarters, the Steelworks, and the club owned by the Man of Steel's pal Bibbo Bibbowski. Read more »

Prince of Persia Retro Hits iPhone, iPad at $1

Just in time for today's release of the Prince of Persia theatrical film, publisher Ubisoft has revamped Jordan Mechner's original action-adventure and released iPhone, iPod touch and iPad versions through iTunes.

Dubbed "Prince of Persia Retro," the 55.3 MB download is priced at 99¢ and "designed for both iPhone and iPad," meaning that the game will automatically detect which device it's running on and modify its control layout / on-screen graphics accordingly.

DC Universe Online Shots Present Power Girl

Superman's cousin and Earth-Two refugee Kara Zor-L--perhaps better known as Power Girl--takes center stage in these latest screenshots from DC Universe Online.

Assuming all goes to plan with the MMO, expect to be crafting your own spandex-clad character then fighting alongside and against some well-known legends--Superman, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, etc.--on PC and PlayStation 3 later in the year.

Ubisoft Planning More Frequent Sequels for Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Ghost Recon and More

New Prince of Persia Game Due Alongside Movie

A new Prince of Persia video game will be released in May 2010, the same month the feature film based off the franchise hits theaters, publisher Ubisoft revealed today.

Dubbed "Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands," the title is in development for "consoles and handhelds," and is said to mark a return to the "Sands of Time storyline" that inspired the upcoming film. The company added that the new game will pack "many of the fan-favorite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay innovations." Read more »

Teen Titans' Beast Boy and Raven pair up with Nightwing in this latest batch of screenshots from Sony Online Entertainment's upcoming DC Universe Online.

The comic-inspired MMO, in which players create their own heroes to fight alongside and against some of the biggest names in the DC Universe (Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Bizarro, Doomsday, etc.) is slated to hit PC and PlayStation 3 in 2010.

First Prince of Persia Movie Trailer Debuts (Updated)

The debut trailer for Disney's game-inspired Prince of Persia film has arrived, offering a glimpse of the Jake Gyllenhaal's antics as the titular (and time-traveling) prince.

Partially written by franchise creator Jordan Mechner, directed by Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean), the film rolls out to theaters in late May. New Prince of Persia Title Trademarked

Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner has filed a new gaming-related trademark for "Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands."

The filing was noticed by Superannuation, which also took note of an Ubisoft character modeler that recently listed his current job as "working on the new Prince of Persia." Read more »

These new shots of Sony's DC Universe Online depict a somewhat vain version of Green Lantern. Sure, he's crime-fightin' in the first few photos, but by the end of the shoot he's already devolved into an obtuse model. This is DC Universe, Hal. There's no time to strut around like a blindfolded fool.

Sony's DC Universe Online is expected to hit the PC and PlayStation 3 in 2010.

Comic Book Bonanza: Mass Effect, Prince of Persia and Singularity Adaptations Announced

Hot on the heels of yesterday's Dante's Inferno comic news--and in the run-up to Comic-Con--no less than three comic book adaptations of video games were announced today.

Mass Effect: Redemption by Dark Horse Comics will bridge the game between the first game and sequel Mass Effect 2, authored by ME2 script writer Mac Walters and drawn by Star Wars Legacy artist Omar Francia. The first issue will arrive on January 6 2010. Read more »
