The nominees for the 11th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards have been announced, meaning that we now get to see what games the international panel of industry professionals felt are in the running to be acknowledged for the greatest overall achievements over the past year. (via Gamasutra)
The Xbox Live Arcade exclusive, LIMBO, leads the charge with seven nominations, followed closely by Red Dead Redemption (six nominations) and Mass Effect 2 (five nominations). All three front-runners are in the running for GDC's Game of the Year award. Pioneer, Ambassador and Lifetime Achievement Special Awards, as well as the host of this year's awards show, have yet to be revealed. Read more »

The PC edition of Vigil Games' post-Apocalyptic action adventure is unsurprisingly no longer scheduled for release in June, publisher THQ has announced, and will instead be released on September--hitting the UK on September 24.
While THQ's American arm has yet to announce the North American date, September 21 would seem the most likely candidate given traditional release schedules. Read more »

Released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in January 2010, Vigil Games' tale of the apocalyptic horseman that came too soon is now headed to PC in June 2010.
"Darksiders is on its way to a PC near you...in June," Haydn Dalton, lead designer on the action-adventure, revealed via Twitter. "Buckle up for the apocalypse biatches."

Anyone who buys a first-run copy of Darksiders before March 7 can receive a free copy of Red Faction: Guerrilla by using the included pack-in, publisher THQ has revealed.
The "Promo Code" pack-in was included in the "initial run of the product" as a "special reward," going by the game's official site. Open to United Stated residents, the offer simply requires those that that got a "Promo Code" in their copy of Darksdiers to redeem the code on the PlayStation 3 Offer Page or Xbox 360 Offer Page by March 7, 2010. An "extensive demo" spanning the entirety of Darskider's first dungeon will be downloadable on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 come February 25, THQ has revealed.
"Rather than just making a standard 20-minute demo version of the first few levels, we decided to give away this massive level and reveal the true essence of the game," explained David Adams, general manager of THQ-owned developer Vigil Games, with the company noting "the demo will take approximately 90 minutes to complete." Publisher THQ has provided an updated glimpse of its release schedule across the next two years, revealing new release dates for some previously announced sequels.
In particular, the latest Red Faction and Saints Row have swapped released windows--destruction-centric shooter Red Faction 4 is now due before April 2011, while the open-world gangbuster Saints Row 3 is due to arrive before April 2012. Read more »

Vigil Games' apocalyptic action-adventure, Darksiders, was released earlier this month to generally favorable reviews. Unfortunately, a significant number of folks who picked up the Xbox 360 version were subjected to unsightly screen-tearing problems.
Since the game hit store shelves, Vigil has been working on an update to fix the problem. According to the official Darksiders website, the patch is finished and will go live at 2AM PST on Wednesday. Once the patch is live, Darksiders will update automatically through Xbox LIVE the next time the game is played. Read more »

Vigil's post-Apocalyptic action adventure Darksiders is soon to receive a patch to fix screen-tearing in the Xbox 360 version, creative director Joe Madureira has told IGN.
"It's something that's really not a difficult fix for us and so we're going to implement a patch to resolve the problem. We're fairly certain it'll happen really soon so look out for it." Read more »
