As promised, Other Ocean's retro-styled prequel Dark Void Zero is now available for digital download on PC via Steam plus iPhone, iPod touch and iPad via iTunes.
Priced at $4.99 on PC and $2.99 in iTunes, the side-scrolling single-player jetpack shooter offers online leaderboards and an exclusive "secret ending" over the downloadable Nintendo DSi edition that hit in January 2010. Read more »

Other Ocean's retro-styled tie-in platformer Dark Void Zero will be released for download on PC and iPhone on April 12, publisher Capcom has announced.
Tying into Airtight's Dark Void, the supposed 'lost project' was originally released on DSiWare in January. New features for the PC and iPhone editions include online leaderboards tracking scores and speed runs, as well as an exclusive "secret ending." Read more »

Announced back in January, Project Aces' second Ace Combat entry on the PSP is set to launch this year. While you wait, take a look at some new screenshots.
Ace Combat Joint Assault will also pack co-op and adversarial multiplayer in both online and local forms. The multi-platform franchise also has an entry on the iPhone and iPod Touch in addition to its Xbox 360 game, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation.

Following up on 2006's Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception (PSP), publisher Namco Bandai today revealed announced that a second entry in the popular multi-platform flight-action series is coming to Sony's portable sometime later this year.
Coming from series developer Project ACES, Ace Combat Joint Assault will include "more than 40 fully licensed aircraft" and " multiple real-world locations including Tokyo, San Francisco, and London," according to Namco. Read more »

Super Street Fighter IV
Street Fighter raked in the awards this past year and in classic fashion Capcom plans to bring it back this year with a Super version. Not a whole new game but not an update to SF4 either, Super adds more online modes, stages, and adds ten more characters, including two new ones. Here at CES they let me play the first of these to be revealed, Juri. She's the first Korean character to the series and the first to use the Tae Kwon Do fighting style. Read more »

In what very well may be the best bit of cross-promotion the Nintendo DSi has ever seen, Capcom has revealed a retro-styled Dark Void prequel that will be downloadable through the online DSiWare Shop in January.
Set before the events of the Airtight-developed sci-fi action game Dark Void (coming to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 19), "Dark Void Zero" is a three-level, side-scrolling shooter helmed by Other Ocean (Ultimate Mortal Kombat DS, Puffins: Island Adventure). Read more »

It's looking to be a puzzling week for Xbox 360 owners, as Square and PopCap's puzzle-RPG Gyromancer will hit alongside Backbone's downloadable adaptation of action-puzzler Diner Dash on Xbox Live this Wednesday, November 18.
Gyromancer will sell for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15), with a PC edition due on Steam the same day at the same price. Diner Dash, meanwhile, will sell for 800 Microsoft Points ($10), with WiiWare and PlayStation Network versions also in development.

Update: Gyromancer will sell for 1200 Microsoft Points / $15, a representative of publisher-developer Square Enix has confirmed with Shacknews.
Original: The downloadable collaboration between Bejeweled maker PopCap and Final Fantasy developer Square Enix will hit PC and Xbox 360 on November 18.
A puzzle-RPG a la Infinite's Puzzle Quest, Gyromancer combines the quest and experience mechanics of traditional role-playing games with combat based on the color-matching gameplay of Bejeweled. No price yet, but we'll keep you updated. Read more »

Peggle and Plants vs. Zombie maker PopCap has paired with Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest publisher Square Enix to craft Gyromancer, a new puzzle-RPG.
Coming to Xbox 360 as an Xbox Live Arcade download and PC via Steam, the game is said to feature PopCap's addictive color-matching puzzler Bejeweled Twist "at its core."
