Red Alert 3: Commander's Challenge Arrives in the PlayStation Store Next Week

The standalone downloadable release of Red Alert 3's "Commander's Challenge" mode will arrive on the PlayStation 3 come September 24, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.

Developed by EA LA, the $10 download packs the 50 challenge maps that originally premiered in the game's PC-only "Uprising" expansion.

Highlights range from "armies of Japanese school girls and giant Soviet war bears to wrestling legend Ric Flair," said EA LA producer Wes Eckhart, who further added that the download packs "more than thirty hours of...RTS entertainment" and represents "the ultimate RTS gameplay experience console players have been waiting for." Bubble Bobble, Red Alert 3 on XBLA This Week

Taito's BUBBLE BOBBLE Neo! and EA LA's Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Commander's Challenge will be this week's downloadable Xbox Live Arcade releases.

The announcement came from Xbox Live programming directory Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, who specified that each Xbox 360 download will sell for 800 MS Points ($10). Read more »

C&C: Red Alert 3 Commander's Challenge Announced

EA has today officially announced Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Commander's Challenge, a downloadable Xbox 360 and PS3 instalment of the strategy series.

Revealed last month by an ESRB listing, Commander's Challenge is essentially the same as the mode of the same name in Red Alert 3's expansion 'Uprising'--players face fifty increasingly difficult challenges, unlocking tech, units and missions as they go. Read more »
