Two new bits of downloadable content for Starbreeze's The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena were today released for the Xbox 360 version of the shooter.
Currently only available to Xbox Live Gold members, Commentary Mode is a free download said to add four and a half hours of developer commentary to the single-player Escape from Butcher Bay campaign. Read more »

Atari has released a patch for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena on PC, fixing a crashing bug, one multiplayer issue, and a case of too much blahblah.

Reports that the PC version of The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena can only be installed three times have sparked another round of outcry from the extremely vocal PC community, though publisher Atari says these reports aren't entirely accurate.
The PC version of Starbreeze's stealthy first-person shooter does indeed have a three-machine install limit, Atari told Shacknews in a statment, but customers can acquire more activations, assuming "it's a legitimate request," by calling the Atari hotline. Read more »

Starbreeze's remake/expansion of its original Riddick shooter went gold today. The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is expected in stores by April 7 on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
To mark the day, the company put out a few more images from the game--as if the recent trailer blast wasn't enough.

The developers at Starbreeze put together this lengthy diary of production on The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, explaining the genesis of the project and how it came to be a much larger piece of work than originally planned.
The game--which includes a new campaign in addition to the remastered Escape from Butcher Bay--arrives April 7 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A demo is now available on Xbox Live, with PC and PlayStation 3 demos set to arrive soon.

A downloadable demo for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is now available to those Xbox 360 owners with Xbox Live Gold accounts. Per usual, it's expected that those without an Xbox Live Gold account will get access after a few days.
The 639MB demo samples the single-player "Athena Main Decks" level. Given that name, the demo is probably culled from the new Assault on Dark Athena campaign, not the remade Escape from Butcher Bay campaign also contained in the game. Read more »

To commemorate the fact that Starbreeze's The Chronciles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena has an actual release date now--April 7 on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360--publisher Atari has issued a few new screenshots from the first-person shooter.
A downloadable demo of the game is slated to hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in March, with Blue's News reporting that a PC demo is eventually coming as well.

Starbreeze Studios' atmospheric shooter The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (PC, PS3, X360) will ship to North American retailers on April 7, publisher Atari has announced. The European release will follow a few weeks later, on April 24.
Furthermore, downloadable PlayStaion 3 and Xbox 360 demos will arrive in March. Read more »

What at first seems like a new, but very standard trailer for Starbreeze's Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena instead turns into a satisfying gameplay showcase in the latter minute.
