Developer MercurySteam's gritty take on the Castlevania franchise proved to be a tremendous success for Konami. According to the publisher, Lords of Shadow is the most successful Castlevania game ever. But, MercurySteam is keen on ending the series on a high note, with Lords of Shadow 2 concluding not only the trilogy, but their involvement with the franchise.
"Our intention is to tell our story and then move on to other things," producer David Cox said. "We have no intention of milking the series any further than that."

Yesterday, we reported that Konami producer David Cox revealed a delay to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow's 'Reverie' downloadable content due to last-minute Xbox 360 bug fixes. Today, Cox shared more detail with Shacknews, including the odd disparity between PSN regions.
We noticed that the content was already available on the PlayStation Network in the US, but not in Europe. "Konami took the decision to hold back the PSN release because the game is multi-platform, and we always try to release our multi-platform products simultaneously," Cox told Shacknews. "If the issue was on PSN, we would hold back the Xbox release in the same manner. Unfortunately, the release on PSN in North America could not be pulled in time which is regrettable and unfortunate." If you have been one of the PS3 users who has experienced issues with your Castlevania: Lords of Shadow save data--namely that it appears to have been corrupted like the dead, black heart of Dracula--you'll be happy to know a patch to fix those specific issues is now available.
The original issue would find players in a grim situation, where Castlevania: Lords of Shadow would recognize save files as corrupt, force players to restart and overwrite their original files. Konami acknowledged the issue on October 13, and promised a fix was on the way. Read more »
