Another batch of downloadable content will soon arrive for the Xbox 360 edition of The Behemoth's downloadable side-scrolling brawler, the company has confirmed.
Included in the "Necromantic Pack" will be two new characters (The Necromancer and The Cult Minion), the Dragonhead Animal Orb, and the new NG Skull Mace and Chainsaw weapons--all of which are pictured left. Read more »

After a period of Xbox 360-exclusivity, Castle Crashers, The Behemoth's stylish downloadable take on the cooperative beat-em-up genre, is headed to the PlayStation 3.
The four-player title has been smoothly carried over to the Sony system, according to GameSpot, with support for trophies and various other tweaks in the works. Read more »

Stardock-run digital distribution platform Impulse has begun adding PC titles from publisher Ubisoft to its catalog, with more slated to arrive in the "summer" timeframe.
Assassin's Creed and Far Cry 2--both from Ubisoft Montreal--and Nival's Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East mark the three Ubisoft titles offered thus far. Impulse is currently offering 10% off each game, making them $17.99 a piece. Read more »

Sony's annual Destination PlayStation conference is underway, with confirmation that Rock Band, Assassin's Creed, LittleBigPlanet and MotorStorm are all PSP-bound.
Little is known regarding each game. Joystiq reports that Rock Band Unplugged will sport an in-game music store through the system's wireless capabilities, and adds that LittleBigPlanet PSP is being made "in conjunction" with creator Media Molecule. Read more »

In commemoration of what appears to be downlodable content Tuesday, Microsoft has announced that this week's Xbox Live Arcade release will be Castle Crashers DLC.
Coming in at 160 Microsoft Points ($2), the Castle Crashers: King Pack adds two new playable characters, a party-healing spell, three new weapons, and a seal animal orb named Pelter to The Behemoth's Xbox 360-only downloadable beat'em up. Read more »

Castle Crashers developer The Behemoth has reassured fans that a patch for the Xbox Live Arcade title is on the way, hoping to allay concerns over the game's still-buggy Xbox Live co-op component.
"We're working with Microsoft to get the title update out as quickly as we can," said a Behemoth spokesperson to Xbox360Fanboy. "Sadly, we can't get into details about the certification process, but we've resolved the game's issues with data loss and networking in addition to other bugs." Read more »

Teasing that "there are many secrets hiding," publisher Ubisoft today revealed that Prince of Persia will sport several unlockable outfits, also noting that the cartoony platforming game has gone gold and entered the manufacturing process.
Giving the Prince the appearance of the Assassin's Creed lead, the Altair skin can be earned by linking a PlayStation Network or Xbox Live account with an Ubisoft.com account, which can be created at PrinceofPersia.com. Read more »

Work on the sequel to last year's open-world old-time murder simulator Assassin's Creed is still progressing at developer Ubistoft Montreal, according to a new interview with the studio's Prince of Persia animation director David Wilkinson.
After praising the efforts of animator Alex Drouin, Wilkinson told AusGamers that Drouin is "busy making [Assassin's Creed lead] Altair even more beautiful, adding that the last time he saw Dourin's work he "was getting Altair to swim." Read more »

The Behemoth's downloadable beat 'em up Castle Crashers will sell for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) when it hits Xbox 360 on August 27, the developer confirmed today.

GameSpot reports that Ubisoft has filed a lawsuit against Optical Experts Manufacturing, a disc replication firm based out of Charlotte, NC.
Optical Experts Manufacturing had been contracted to manufacture game discs for the PC version of Assassin's Creed, which was released this past April. According to Ubisoft, "an extraordinary breach of trust and gross negligence" led to one of the employees leaving the plant with a copy of the game some six weeks before the retail date.In taking the contract, OEM had to agree to security procedures that would've prevented such a leak. One of these procedures, Ubisoft alleges, is that no copy would ever leave OEM's premises. Read more »

Though publisher Microsoft had previously denied a $15 price for Braid, the company confirmed today that Jonathan Blow and Number None's time-shifting puzzler will indeed cost 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) when it is released as a downloadable Xbox 360 title through the Xbox Live Marketplace this Wednesday.
In last week's statement, Microsoft also denied that The Behemoth's downloadable four-player beat'em up Castle Crashers would sell for 1800 Microsoft Points ($22.50) when it arrives on August 27. Read more »

Update: Microsoft has informed Shacknews that the reported $22.50 price point for Castle Crashers and $15 Braid price, believed to stem from a now-removed Microsoft Japan listing, are incorrect for both domestic and international markets.
The company further noted that it will officially announce price points for those titles on the Monday preceding Braid and Castle Crashers' respective release dates, or August 4 and 25. Read more »
