The legal battle between Activision and Jason West and Vince Zampella has taken an unusual twist. In new court documents filed this week, the video games giant accuses the pair of conspiring with rival company Electronic Arts to sabotage Infinity Ward as well as fellow Call of Duty series developer Treyarch and the brand.
First, a quick summary of events so far: West and Zampella, who co-founded of Call of Duty creator Infinity Ward before it was bought by Activision, were fired in March under mysterious circumstances; West and Zampella sued for unpaid royalties and brand rights; Activision scoffed. [Update - 4:30PM] Though it will not be added to the Greatest Hits library, Sony has dropped the price of ModNation Racers to $39.99 on the PS3 and to $19.99 on the PSP.

Following last week's record-breaking launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the iPhone and iPod touch are now home to a Call of Duty game of their very own.
Now available via iTunes, Call of Duty: World at War: ZOMBIES recreates the zombie-infested "Nacht der Untoten (Night of the Undead)" map from last year's entry, Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War, in portable touch- and tilt-controlled form. Read more »

As the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 nears, Activision is discounting the zombie-filled DLC for Call of Duty: World at War on the PS3.
The three map packs can all be had for 50% off, or $5 apiece. The sale--which also coincides with a double-XP bonus--runs through next Sunday.

Treyarch has released the 1.6 patch for Call of Duty: World at War, bringing another bunch of fixes and maps to the multiplayer side of the shooter.
Headlining the free update are three new multiplayer maps: Battery, Breach and Revolution. Fans of the previous Nazi zombie maps will also be pleased to find a new undead encounter in Der Riese, set in a "secret Nazi research facility." Teleporters and the weapon-upgrading "Pack A Punch" machine are involved. Read more »

It's a monster of a PlayStation Store update today, with a downloadable demo of Batman: Arkham Asylum and the third map pack for Call of Duty: World at War among today's various additions to the PlayStation 3's online marketplace.

It appears that the third map pack for Call of Duty: World at War includes not only a new zombie map, but also a monkey bomb. How can you go wrong with this purchase?

With the third multiplayer map pack for Call of Duty: World at War hitting PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in just a few days, developer Treyarch today launched a free application that lets players track in-game stats and news from an iPhone or iPod Touch.
To fully utilize the "Call of Duty: World at War Companion," players must first link their PlayStation Network or Xbox Live identities to their account at codwaw.com. Those playing on PC are unable to take full advantage of the app's stat-tracking functionality. Read more »

The next World at War map pack is including another of the popular zombie levels--this one dubbed "Der Riese"--and this video offers a look at it.
The third map pack hits the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on August 6, and presumably will arrive later on the PC.

Expansions to Call of Duty: World at War have been quite popular, so it's no wonder that Treyarch is pumping them out at a steady pace ahead of Modern Warfare 2's release.
The company is releasing a third map pack in August, a download planned to include three multiplayer maps and one level for the title's zombie mode.

The 1.5 patch for the PC version of Call of Duty: World at War is now available for download, as well as the updated mod tools.
In addition to numerous fixes and tweaks, the patch adds four new multiplayer arenas, including a new map for the popular zombie mode. Read more »
