Publisher Activision revealed today that Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War will support both online and offline cooperative play, a first for the long-running FPS series.
Returning the series to the Pacific Theater of World War II, World at War—often unofficially referred to as Call of Duty 5— introduces cooperative play for up to four players online on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, in addition to two-player local split-screen cooperative play on home consoles. The Call of Duty: World at War debut trailer has arrived, showing off the Treyarch-developed World War II action game sequel.
Unofficially referred to as Call of Duty 5, World at War arrives on PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS this fall.

The first details on Call of Duty 5 have apparently emerged from the latest issue of UK gaming magazine GamesTM, revealing the game to be titled Call of Duty: World at War and set within the Pacific Theater of World War II.
Developed by Call of Duty 3 veterans Treyarch, the game will, as previously known, arrive on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS this fall. Publisher Activision had previously teased the title would take place in "a new military theater." Read more »

The next entry in the Activision-owned wartime shooting franchise Call of Duty will take place in a "new military theater," according to Activision Publishing CEO and president Mike Griffith.
Speaking during a conference call yesterday, Griffith said that the unnamed sequel, which many unofficially refer to as Call of Duty 5, will arrive on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS later this year. Read more »
