Call of Duty: World At War DLC Not 'Traditional'

Treyarch's downloadble add-ons for Call of Duty: World at War will "not going to be what we've done traditionally," executive producer Daniel Suarez has teased.

Call of Duty: World at War Offers Double XP Week to Collector's Edition Owners in December

Those that bought the PC and Xbox 360 Limited Collector's Editions of Call of Duty: World at War will be able to earn double experience points from online multiplayer from December 5 thought December 12, publisher Activision has announced.

For double XP access, owners must have activated their Limited Collector's Edition. For the PC, this is done automatically as the serial code is entered during installation, with any server offering double XP. Xbox 360 LCE owners will need to play on the "Officer's Club" playlist for double XP, and must have registered on the official site and then downloaded the accompanying token. Read more »

Now available at FileShack is the mod toolset for Call of Duty: World at War.

Tucked away within the 1.10GB archive is everything owners of the PC version will need to start making custom content, such as levels and new game modes.

Call of Duty: World at War Invades Steam

Valve has announced that the PC version of Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War is now available on the Steam digital distribution service.

The World War II shooter, which is selling like hotcakes, can now be purchased online and downloaded through Steam for the price of $49.95, the same as buying the disc-based game from a brick-and-mortar retailer. Read more »

New Call of Duty Doubles CoD4's First Week Sales

Treyarch's wartime shooter Call of Duty: World at War has more than doubled the week-one UK sales of Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4, GamesIndustry reports.

World at War arrived at retailers last week, hitting two more platforms--PS2 and Wii--than Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which was released on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS. The PS2 edition of CoD:WaW was developed by Rebellion, while n-Space handled the DS editions of both CoD4 and CoD:WaW. Read more »

Call of Duty: World at War Launch Trailer

Publisher Activision sends along the latest trailer for Treyarch's World War II shooter Call of Duty: World at War, which wraps up World War II and hits PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS next Tuesday, November 11.

A multiplayer beta test of the game is currently underway for PC and Xbox 360, with both freely open to the general public, though neither pack the zombie survival mode.

Zombies Invade World War II in Call of Duty Bonus

Activision has released a new trailer showing off a zombie-themed bonus level contained in Treyarch's upcoming World War II shooter Call of Duty: World at War.

Call of Duty 5 Brings Co-op Zombie Killing into WWII

The video game zombie invasion continues, as it was revealed over the weekend that Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War (PC, 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, DS) contains an endless zombie-slaughter mode for up to four players.

The mode, which is unlocked by finishing the fifth Call of Duty game releasing November 11, plays like the Horde Mode of Epic's Gears of War 2, but with undead Nazis in the place of more monstrous Locust. Read more »

Call of Duty: World at War Gets Open PC Beta

While the recently-launched Xbox 360 multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: World at War is limited to pre-order customers and select others, developer Treyarch has revealed that the forthcoming PC beta will be open to all members of the official site.

"These PC keys will be available to all registered users of CallOfDuty.com, including any new users who sign up after the PC Beta releases," reads a Call of Duty: World at War community update acquired by Voodoo Extreme. "These keys aren't intended to limit the Beta to a certain number of players; they are here to allow you to create these unique profile names for our Friends and Invites features." Read more »

Call of Duty Series Could Return to WWII Again

Four of the five games in the Call of Duty series, counting Treyarch's now-in-beta World at War (PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS), have been set in World War II but there's still room for more antics featuring The Greatest Generation, according to World at War senior producer Noah Heller.

Call of Duty: World at War Multiplayer Beta Launches

Publisher Activision has announced that select Xbox 360 owners can now access the multiplayer beta for Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War, with the PC beta said to be coming "soon."

Those that pre-order the first person shooter from retailer GameStop will receive a key to download the beta, which will run for "a few weeks." Codes are also available by registering at CallofDuty.com. Read more »
