Call of Duty: WaW Map Pack #2 Arrives Tomorrow

The second downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: World at War will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players tomorrow, developer Treyarch has announced.

Priced at 800 Microsoft Points ($10), the June 11-due download adds four new multiplayer arenas to the war-centric shooter. Three of those--Banzai, Corrosion, Sub Pens--are for traditional competitive multiplayer antics, with "Shi No Numa (Zombie Swamp)," bringing new content to the Nazi Zombie mode. Read more »

Shack PSA: Call of Duty: World at War Half-off on Steam This Weekend

Treyarch's World War II shooter Call of Duty: World at War has been reduced in price by 50% on Steam this weekend, bringing the final price to $25.

CoD: World at War Maps Pass 2 Million Downloads

Activision today announced that the first map pack for Call of Duty: World at War has recorded over two million downloads.

The $10 pack already broke records in March when it surpassed 1 million downloads in a single week. A second map pack, set to include even more zombie content, is set for release in June.

Call of Duty: WaW Map Pack #2 Arrives in June

The second downloadable map pack for Treyarch's popular shooter Call of Duty: World at War will hit PlayStation and Xbox 360 in June, publisher Activision announced today.

As with the first pack, the download will deliver a total of four new maps, with three--Banzai, Corrosion, Sub Pens--for traditional competitive multiplayer and the fourth, "Shi No Numa (Zombie Swamp)," expanding the cooperative Nazi Zombie mode. Read more »

Call of Duty: World at War PC Patch 1.4 Arrives Bearing Bonus Free Map Pack

Treyarch has released a new PC patch for Call of Duty: World of War, polishing up multiplayer and bringing Map Pack 1 for free, courtesy of Intel. Get it at FileShack.

The map pack arrived on consoles last month costing $10--a price over one million players happily paid during the first week of sale alone. Alongside three regular multiplayer maps is a new Nazi Zombies map which fleshes out the popular mode. Read more »

Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack Sells 1 Million

Teryarch's first downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: World at War sold over one million downloads during its first week on consoles, publisher Activision has revealed.

The $10 download hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 19, tempting players with four new multiplayer maps, including one dedicated to the popular Nazi Zombies mode. Details on a PC release are said to be "coming soon." Read more »

Weekly PlayStation Store Update: Call of Duty Maps, Wheel of Fortune Puzzles

This week's PlayStation Update is headlined by the Call of Duty: World at War map pack and a downloadable Wheel of Fortune game.

Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack Hits Consoles

As promised, the first downloadable map pack for Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War hit Xbox 360 earlier today, and will arrive on PlayStation 3 before the day's end.

The $10 download brings four new maps to the shooter's multiplayer component: Nightfire, Knee Deep, Station and Verruckt (Zombie Asylum). That last map is for the Nazi Zombie mode, and supplies players with more weapons and Perks-a-Cola. Read more »

The first downloadable multiplayer map pack for Call of Duty: World at War will arrive in PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 form come March 19, publisher Activision has revealed.

Call of Duty: WaW PC Patch 1.3 Arrives, Fixes Sound

Treyarch has released a new patch for the PC version of Call of Duty: World at War, which you can now find over on FileShack.

The 1.3 patch resolves the Vista sound issues that accompanied the last update and enables players to record and view multiplayer matches, among other changes. Oh, and it's an incremental patch, so you'll need to have installed the 1.2 update to apply 1.3. Read more »

Call of Duty: WaW Console Patch Adds Re-lit Map

Today is the day that PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners of Call of Duty: World at War no longer feel such animosity towards their PC brethren, as now players on all three platforms can finally enjoy the re-lit daytime version of the Makin multiplayer map.

PC owners got the map as part of a patch earlier this month, and now the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions have been updated as well. The free map is included in the PS3 patch, but Xbox 360 owners will need to download it separately from Xbox Live. Read more »

First CoD: World at War Map Pack Hits in March

Following up on yesterday's hints, publisher Activision has revealed that the first map pack for Call of Duty: World at War will hit PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in March.

The download will bring four new multiplayer maps Treyarch's World War II shooter, taking players into "the streets of a war-ravaged Berlin in 'Nightfire,' deep into deadly jungles to attack fortified Japanese positions in 'Knee Deep' and through a bombed out underground subway system in 'Station.'" New Zombie Content Heading to CoD: World at War

Following the popularity of Call of Duty: World at War's zombie-themed bonus level, Treyarch has announced that the next downloadable map pack for the game will include more zombie content.

"Yes, there will be a new wave of undead coming soon and--while we appreciate everyone's concern (and we don't condone vandalism)--we assure you that these zombies will only be found in the Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack," said a Treyarch community manager on the game's official forums, referring to various 'Zombies Ahead' road sign pranks.
