Gatling Gears, Star Raiders, and 2K discounts coming to XBLM

The next few weeks of Xbox Live Marketplace content have been detailed by Microsoft's Larry Hryb, including some anticipated XBLA games and discounts on 2K titles.

The twin-stick shooter Gatling Gears will be up tomorrow for $15 (1200 MSP), and Sega Rally Online Arcade will go up next week for a cool $10 (800 MSP). Hryb also tweeted separately that Star Raiders will be up this week as well. Read more »

Borderlands Game of the Year Edition Coming to Mac on December 3

Gearbox Software and Mac publisher Feral Interactive are bringing Borderlands to the Mac on December 3 in its Game of the Year Edition flavor, which includes all four DLC packs for the game.

Borderlands Patch Now Available; Level Cap Increased

The 1.41 patch (details here) for Borderlands, which raises the level cap to 58 for all users and to 69 for owners of The Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC, is availble now for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

To snag the patch on either of the console versions, launch the game while connected to the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live. For the PC retail version, users may download the patch manually. German gamers will need this patch. Read more »

Gearbox Details Upcoming Borderlands Patch, Here's Your Level Cap Increase

Gearbox has detailed the upcoming patch--or title update if you're a console gamer--for its loot-filled shooter Borderlands. As previously reported, this is the patch that will raise the game's level-cap. It was initially thought to be releasing alongside Claptrap's Robot Revolution.

Borderlands Now Available on Xbox 360 Games on Demand, First Three DLC Packs on Sale

Gearbox and 2K's Borderlands is now available digitally through Xbox 360 Games on Demand for 2400 MS Points ($30). This is the vanilla version of the game, not the recently released Game of the Year Edition, which includes all four DLC packs.

Borderlands GOTY Edition Grants Early Access to Eventual Duke Nukem Forever Demo

2K Games and Gearbox have revealed that purchasing the Game of the Year edition of Borderlands will give players exclusive access to the "Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club," in addition to some exclusive in-game items...in other words, early access to the DNF demo.

As expected, the Borderlands Game of the Year Edition will include the all four downloadable episodes from the "extravasplosive Borderlands catalog," but will also come with a "free membership certificate for the Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club." In addition to the playable demo of Duke Nukem Forever, the First Access Club membership will also give players access to an as-of-yet-undisclosed "wealth of goodies." Read more »

Fallout 3 DLC is 50% Off on Xbox 360 this Week

All five DLC add-ons for Bethesda's Fallout 3 are 50% off this week on the Xbox 360 through Xbox Live Marketplace. Each of the add-on packs can be had for 400 MS Points or $5. For now, the DLC is $10 a pop on the PS3 and PC, though it remains to be seen if similar sales follow.

New Screenshots for Borderlands 'Claptrap' DLC

The fourth DLC pack for Borderlands is coming on September 28 for $10, but we've got some new screenshots for you while you wait. The pack is 'Claptrap's New Robot Revolution' and will revolve around those robotic scamps from the original game.

It will also raise the level cap to 69 and re-balance the game around this new ceiling. "More than 20 new missions" with "tons of fresh enemies to blast through, including original boss battles, waves of homicidal Claptraps, well-armed Hyperion soldiers, and local creatures that have been Claptrap-ified - including crab-traps, rakk-traps and skag-trapps" will be included. Borderlands Patch Will Raise Level Cap, Rebalance

A patch for Borderlands will raise its level cap and rebalance the shooter RPG accordingly, developer Gearbox explained during PAX panel attended by Joystiq.

The free patch for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will raise the level cap to the hilarious number of 69 and, in the words of Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, "rebalance the original game around the level cap." Read more »

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition Announced for October 12, Includes All Four DLC Packs

Gearbox has just announced what many had already assumed (or hoped), Borderlands will get a "Game of the Year" re-release with its multiple downloadable content releases included, very soon.

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition will land in stores on October 12 on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. The PC version retails for $49.99, while the console versions will ring in at $59.99. Read more »

Borderlands players will get to blast away the shooter RPG's chipper Claptrap robots, developer Gearbox and publisher 2K Games announced today, when the new downloadable content 'Claptrap's New Robot Revolution' is released in September.

Report: New Borderlands DLC Information Buried in Recent Patch

Information about future Borderlands DLC might have been hidden in the recent Steam patch for Borderlands, according to a user on the Gearbox forums (via Giantbomb).

The data-mined revolves around Claptraps--specifically a Ninja Claptrap designed to keep the heroes of Borderlands from accessing the Vault--including new quests, locations, and enemies. Back in October, Shacknews interviewed Gearbox's Mikey Neumann, who promised we would be seeing more of the "Ninja Assassin Claptrap" seen after the end credits of Borderlands. Read more »
