PC gaming enthusiasts have long been pining for Nvidia's Kepler series. With full support for DirectX 11 features, TXAA, and PhysX, they represent the beginning of a new generation of gaming graphics. However, with the GTX 680 series costing upwards of $500 or more, the cards have been out of reach for many PC gamers.
Today, Nvidia launches the GTX 660 Ti, the lowest priced entry in Nvidia's Kepler series. Not only do cards start at $299, it will be bundled with a voucher redeemable for a free copy of Borderlands 2, an attractive incentive for those already intending to buy the game.

Borderlands has been a tremendous success for developer Gearbox Software. Which begs the question: "why hasn't it been copied?"
Gearbox president Randy Pitchford has been wondering exactly the same thing. "I'm actually astonished that we're about to launch a sequel and no one's stole it from us," Pitchford said. "We're in an industry where people do nothing but steal from each other. That's kind of interesting."

It's not hard to get excited about Borderlands 2, but the new trailer Gearbox has released showing off a new jungle environment and beasties will have you singing its praises even more, with emphasis on singing.
The choice of The Lion Sleeps Tonight for this action-packed video works much better than the last trailer's dubstep, but now I can't get the stupid song (or the wacky images) out of my head. It looks like the trailer accomplished it purpose.

Fresh off the reveal of the reveal of the ambitious iOS game Republique which will be the debut title for his newly formed Camoflaj studio, Ryan Payton joins Garnett and the two Jeffs this week. They discuss the mix of stealth, exploration, and some voyeurism going into the design and the aspirations for it in advance of a Kickstarter campaign that begins Monday. With the Mass Effect "Extended Cut" announced the subject of bringing big games to a conclusion also comes up. There are new games to talk about as well with Jeff sharing some impressions from four and a half hours of playing Borderlands 2, Garnett giving a quick take on Ridge Racer Unbounded (don't think you know how that goes), and, yes, Yakuza 4 talk. All that and Finishing Moves tops things off.

Gearbox Software is bringing some new classes to Borderlands 2, with lessons learned from the previous game's skill trees. Now the studio has detailed the skills for one of those classes, the wild dual-wielding Gunzerker.
The Gunzerker's primary action skill is dual-wielding, but the wrinkles come from building from three skill trees to modify that ability. The Rampage skill tree accents the "berserker" roots of the character type, to make the dual-wielding more destructive. The Yippe Ki Yay skill in the Rampage tree, for example, grants more gunzerking time for each kill, so large groups of enemies get laid to waste.
