Former Monolith CEO Jace Hall's campaign to resurrect the studio's first game, gory FPS Blood, has been shot down by current rights-holder Atari. Hall had spoken of revamping and updating Blood, like how fans have reworked the Doom engine, not only for PC but other platforms as well. He cryptically teased further plans too.

Monolith's ultra-gory Build Engine shooter Blood has been digitally re-released on PC by virtual vendor Good Old Games, continuing its run of Atari additions as promised.
The $5.99 'One Unit Whole Blood' pack contains the delightful 1997 shooter, completely free from DRM, as well as its two 'Plasma Pak' and 'Cryptic Passage' addons. GOG's penchant for bonuses persists, with the downloadable soundtrack included for free. Read more »
