Update 3: More comparisons surfaced overnight, revealing that Limbo of the Lost apparently contains background elements of Gray Matter's Return to Castle Wolfenstein, World of Warcraft artwork, and a shocking number of Unreal Tournament 2004 maps.

Sup game announcements. Lionhead has announced that it is developing a Black & White 2 expansion pack called Battle of the Gods. Lionhead promises the expansion will feature a "much darker, more sinister game world", and will add a new creature, two new lands, six new challenges and four additional miracles. Enemy AI has also been reworked. Black & White 2: Battle of the Gods will be released by EA some time this year.

Mod tools for Black & White 2 are now available for download. The tool set includes LionheadUnstuffer to extract the everything.stuff file, a landscape editor, a script compiler and script language documentation.

Lionhead has released the Black & White 2 patch, updating the game to v1.1 and fixing several game and balancing issues. The patch unfortunately isn't save-game compatible with the original 1.0 release.

Lionhead's Black & White 2 page has been updated with the news that a patch for the game will be released October 6, a day before the release of the game. The patch will allow you to skip the tutorial and also allows you to switch back to the old control system. Also mentioned is that October 7 is just the US, UK and Irish release date now; the rest of Europe will receive the game October 14 - "Curse our publisher for that one!".
