A current-gen update to Capcom's 1988 grappling-hook sidescroller Bionic Commando will be coming to PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, Capcom has announced. No estimated release date has been given to the project. Like the original title, players will use a grappling hook to traverse levels designed for vertical ascent. The new title will be in 3D, of course, and the grappling hook has been updated to feature more practical uses--like dispatching foes and heaving vehicles across the city. Swedish developer GRIN, responsible for the PC versions of Ubisoft's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter series, will head up the development of the title. Hopefully, GRIN will as skillfully implement the grappling hook as Capcom did in its third-person shooter Lost Planet: Extreme Condition.
