Microsoft has detailed the content coming for the next couple of weeks on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The much-publicised hostilities between Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose and former guitarist Slash have entered the realm of video games, as Rose is suing Activision Blizzard over Slash and songs from his new band Velvet Revolver appearing in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

According to court documents dug up by Radar Online, Rose allegedly allowed the GNR song 'Welcome to the Jungle' to be used in GH3 only on condition that neither Slash's likeness nor his music would be in the game. Rose has been keen to distance GNR from Slash since he left in 1996. Read more »

Japanese developer and publisher Capcom intends to stop commissioning original games from foreign developers as part of the response to its recent revelation that profits dropped 73% over the last year, 1up spotted the Financial Times reporting.

"As a group, the new titles where development was led from abroad didn't do so well," Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto told the newspaper. Capcom's annual financial report blamed the poor sales performance of foreign projects Bionic Commando and Dark Void in part for the past year's profits plummet, among other factors. Read more »

Capcom's annual financial results reveal the developer and publisher's profits dropped 73.1%--2,167 million Yen, or $23.5 million US--in the past year as compared to 2009.

Capcom explains that Bionic Commando, Dark Void and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles "underperformed their sales and remained weak" while the postponing of Lost Planet 2 and Super Street Fighter IV to its 2011 financial year didn't help either. Read more »

Swedish developer GRIN, most notably responsible for the recent Bionic Commando games, could be on its way to closing altogether according to a new Gamasutra report.

The company has already closed its studios in Barcelona and Gothenburg, and un-smiling employees have recently been told not to show up to work at its Stockholm headquarters. Read more »

As Street Fighter IV PC rolls out to retailers worldwide, publisher Capcom has provided release dates for the belated PC edition of GRIN's action game Bionic Commando.

Specifically, Bionic Commando PC hits Europe on July 17, with the North American release following on July 28. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions hit earlier this year. Read more »

A pair of new Bionic Commando trailers from publisher Capcom show two starkly disparate approaches to marketing GRIN's free-swinging third-person shooter.

First we follow on from the Bionic Middle Manager and Bionic Fireman trailers with a new menial job, a cussin' old dear, wailing metal vocals and one very cheesy grin.

They may not be of the same caliber as Miniature Replica Soldier, but these two off-the-wall Bionic Commando video spots from Capcom are certainly, well, something.

GRIN has released over a dozen screenshots of its upcoming Bionic Commando re-imagining, giving us an extensive look at the title's various enemies and locales.

Surprising no one, developer Capcom today confirmed that the oft-rumored PC version of Resident Evil 5 will arrive "later in the year," with the PC editions of Street Fighter IV and Bionic Commando due in July. All three will be sold via retail and digital distribution.

"All three games will be optimized for the PC platform and will have new PC-specific features added to the already great games," wrote Capcom. Both Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 earlier this year, with the console edition of GRIN's swinging action game Bionic Commando slated to hit on May 19. Continuing today's Capcom craziness, the publisher has announced that the Xbox 360-only Bionic Commando multiplayer demo will arrive on Wednesday, April 29.

The demo packs one map, which supports deathmatch play for up to eight gamers. Capcom previously told Shacknews that it had "no plans" to release the demo on PC and PlayStation 3, and likewise had no plans for a single-player demo at the time. Read more »

Update: Capcom has confirmed that the Bionic Commando multiplayer demo is an Xbox 360 exclusive, telling Shacknews that it has "no plans for a PC or PS3 demo." When asked why, a representative from Capcom told us they had "no comment."

Additionally, the rep noted that there are no plans for a single-player demo "at this time."
