The Batman: Arkham franchise has spawned two excellent console games and a surprisingly decent mobile spin-off. Can its magic translate into yet another medium: the board game?
Arkham City Escape is a two player board game that "pits Batman against all of his greatest foes as they try to escape Arkham." One player plays as Batman while the other player controls all the villains. "There are 40 of Batman's enemies available to play, each with exclusive special abilities, all trying to escape the clutches of the Dark Knight by taking hostages and fleeing Arkham," Cryptozoic Entertainment explains.

Given the blockbuster success of its earlier efforts, it shouldn't be too surprising that Rocksteady is probably working on a follow-up to Batman: Arkham City. But despite its cliffhanger ending, the next game may take a break from those plot threads and go all the way back the Silver Age of comics.

Note: This review includes spoilers from Batman: Arkham City.
Harley Quinn's Revenge is everything Batman fans have been waiting for from Arkham City DLC. This isn't a collection of costumes or challenge maps, but a honest-to-goodness expansion of the campaign. With voice acting, to boot. Taking place immediately after the events of the main story of Arkham City, it places you in the shoes of both Batman and Robin--an enticing proposition that should make the $10 asking price "worth it."

Update 8:15 a.m.: Rocksteady's community manager has issued an updated tweet correcting the previous date; the Harley Quinn DLC will launch on May 29 (PSN) and May 30 (XBL) alongside the Game of the Year edition.
Original Story: Warner Bros and Rocksteady Studios confirmed not one but two rumors today, with the announcement of both a Game of the Year edition and another pack of upcoming downloadable content for Batman: Arkham City. The newly announced Harley Quinn DLC is coming soon, and if you were patient enough to wait for Batman this long, waiting some more for the GOTY edition will get you that content (and loads of other goodies) included.

In a response to a Better Business Bureau complaint, Capcom says of Street Fighter x Tekken DLC being on the disc already that there's 'no distinction' between that and a full download other than delivery mechanism. It's probably time to start calling this content something other than "downloadable" then. Newly found trophies for the PS3 point to more story content coming our way for Batman: Arkham City. It also sounds like Robin may make it out of the challenge maps and out on his own for some of the extra adventuring. And the PlayStation 3 got a nice addition to its entertainment options today with Amazon's instant video service hitting the console complete with access for Amazon Prime members to 17,000+ free to stream shows and movies.

Ever since the PC edition of Batman: Arkham City launched in November 2011, an unlucky portion of players have been finding their save files mysteriously corrupted and their progress lost. Four months later, Rocksteady Studios has finally released a patch addressing the problem, which even salvages the saves for some--but not all.

Little is known about the Wii U version of Batman: Arkham City. In fact, all we know is that it exists.
There are those that know much more about the game, however. For example, Epic Games' Mark Rein has seen the game running on Nintendo's next console. Speaking at Game Developers Conference, Rein noted that the Unreal Engine-powered game won't be a straight port of the PC/PS3/Xbox 360 game.

Batman: Arkham City is a great game, earning the 3rd spot on our Game of the Year list. But would it have been a better game had it featured a multiplayer component?
Game director Sefton Hill argued that it would have seriously diminished the game. "If we did multiplayer then we wouldn't have been able to deliver the quality of game that people wanted--that we wanted," he said. "We would end up delivering two watered down products."
