The Tyranny of King Washington comes to an end today, with the final part of the DLC trilogy released today for Assassin's Creed 3: "The Redemption."
In this episode, Connor discovers the power of the bear, and he will also be able to use the eagle and wolf powers from the previous two episodes to overcome foes. The setting is New York, where Washington has had a pyramid built to his greatness.

In order to bring a new Assassin's Creed game to market every year, Ubisoft has employed an incredibly elaborate co-development strategy that has a number of teams working on a single game. For example, although Ubisoft Montreal spearheaded development of Assassin's Creed 3, five other teams worked on different parts of the game. Ubisoft Kiev, Romania, Annecy, Singapore, and Quebec all contributed to AC3 in order to ship the incredibly ambitious game just one year after Revelations.
Marc-Alexis Cote is game director at Ubisoft Quebec, the team responsible for the Homestead of AC3, and the "Tyranny of King Washington" DLC expansion (pictured). At GDC, Cote talked up how the annualized Assassin's Creed franchise has helped the studio--but also warns that the studio cannot continue "forever."

We already know that Assassin's Creed 3's three-part alternate history, "Tyranny of King Washington," will be kicking off on February 19. For you calendar-obsessive types and history buffs, of which there might be some crossover, Ubisoft has detailed dates for the other two parts of story in March and April.

The political aspirations of George Washington will start to become clear when the first of three Tyranny of King Washington DLC packs launch for Assassin's Creed 3 on February 19.
The first pack, entitled The Infamy, will have Connor waking up from a dream to find Washington has been crowned King. The ultimate goal of the missions will be to dethrone the new monarch.

Wii U owners are still playing catch-up when it comes to multi-platform games. The Wii U version of Assassin's Creed 3 is finally getting platform parity with the other consoles, as the Ubisoft has now added the first two downloadable content packs on the Wii U eShop. The Hidden Secrets and Battle Hardened packs are now available for $4.99 and $9.99, respectively.

Assassin's Creed is one of the surest bets in Ubisoft's catalog, and adding the backdrop of the American Revolution must have been a no-brainer. Despite critical enthusiasm dipping over the last two games, Assassin's Creed 3 has become the fastest-selling game in the Ubisoft's history. The company announced today that it had reached 7 million sales after one month on shelves.
