The standalone ArcaniA: Gothic 4 expansion Fall of Setarrif will not launch this week, as was planned, having been delayed indefinitely due to unusual reason of "legal uncertainty" at publisher JoWooD.
The company said in a press release that the expansion's "legal background" is "unclear" and that "diverse legal positions with the BVT fund that financed the main game are present." As such, Fall of Setarrif has been placed on hold and delayed indefinitely. Read more »

Austria-based publisher JoWood Entertainment AG announced it applied for capital reorganization in the Vienna Commercial Court after "all efforts towards restructuring of capitalization concerning outside capital as well as equity capital had to be considered as failed" on January 6.JoWood recently co-published Spellbound Entertainment's role-playing title Arcania: Gothic 4 with its Toronto-based subsidiary DreamCatcher Interactive.

An expansion pack, titled Fall of Setarrif, for ArcaniA: Gothic 4 is in the pipeline, developer Spellbound Entertainment and publisher DreamCatcher announced today.
Fall of Setarrif will pack an estimated ten hours of extra content, with new quests, missions, enemies, environments and items. Plus, apparently "for the very first time in the franchise," you'll have the opportunity to play as other characters. Read more »

ArcaniA: Gothic 4's publisher DreamCatcher Interactive has announced that the fantasy RPG sequel's North American release on PC and Xbox 360 will not be tomorrow, as was planned, but has been pushed back into next week.
The worldwide launch is still on course for this week but North America will, for reasons unknown, have to wait until October 19. Still, you can always replay the demo. Read more »

Fans of the fantasy RPG series Gothic eager to see how ArcaniA: Gothic 4 turned out, given that it's the first entry in the series developed by Spellbound Entertainment rather than creator Piranha Bytes, can now find out with the PC and Xbox 360 demo.

An ArcaniA: Gothic 4 demo will be released for PC and Xbox 360 on September 24, publisher JoWooD has announced, giving a taste of developer Spellbound Entertainment's first entry in the fantasy RPG series created by Piranha Bytes.
The demo, which was playable at Gamescom this year, will offer players "the first two hours of the game." This includes the tutorial level as well as "selected quests." Read more »

The E3 trailer for ArcaniA: Gothic 4 has arrived to reveal a large number of massive and scary bugs that may very well halt your progress in the the fantasy RPG sequel.

Publisher JoWooD has released new screenshots for the fourth entry in the RPG series 'Gothic' and revealed it has once again been renamed, this time to Arcania: Gothic 4.
Set twelve years after Gothic 3, the fourth instalment sees the series' previous protagonist The Nameless Hero turned into a despotic King and casts players as a "seemingly unimposing shepherd from the Isle of Feshyr" with a score to settle. Read more »
