If wall-running in slow-motion as a punky lady with a katana in one hand and a machine pistol in the other sounds like your bag, have a gander at APB Vendetta. The folks behind the resurrected APB Reloaded are trying to crowdfund a side-diving, dual-wielding, combo-making, face-breaking FPS inspired by Mirror's Edge and mods like Action Half-Life and The Specialists. They need $300,000 of our money to do it and oh, it's tempting.

Interactive Gaming Software (IGS) has announced a partnership with GamersFirst to deliver APB: Reloaded--a new iteration of failed MMO APB built on a free-to-play model--to North America this November. And while technically a F2P game, the retail version has been priced and detailed.
"Our pricing model for APB Reloaded actually pays a gamer to come try the game. This is unprecedented for a title which cost more than seventy million dollars to produce," GamersFirst's Rahul Sandil said in a press release.

APB creator and Grand Theft Auto designer David Jones has been reunited with his malformed baby, signing up with Reload Productions to work on the free-to-play APB Reloaded.
"This game was my passion back when I was developing it with Realtime Worlds, and I'm extremely excited to be able to participate in fulfilling the long term vision for the title," Jones said in the announcement. "After seeing what the team has done with the game thus far, I'm certain that APB Reloaded will become the title that truly breaks new ground for online game experiences, especially with transition to a free to play model." New details for the previously reported upcoming February "closed beta" for APB: Reloaded have been revealed on the game's blog, listing a number of the requirements expected from those who plan on walking the renovated streets of San Paro.
While some of the requirements are standard (submit your email address for information at the game's official site and sign up for an account at Gamersfirst.com), others are a little more detailed. "...You will be asked to submit a lot of additional data, among other things your DxDiag (if you don't know that is, then you might not be a great closed beta candidate) and some additional information about you, as well as about your system and your own background as a gamer," the post notes. Reloaded Productions, which is owned by GamersFirst, will be converting Realtime Worlds and EA's APB into a free-to-play game for release in 2011 following its purchase of the game. As such, it will feature free (obviously) and premium accounts.
As development continues, Reloaded has gotten its first potential feature split between free and paid accounts in the realm of player-created content, which was easily the strongest feature of the original APB. Keep in mind, none of this is confirmed, but here is what we might see in the final game, as described by Reloaded's COO and CTO, Bjorn: Read more »
