Nintendo reports first annual loss of about $460 million

Nintendo has reported its results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012, and they weren't pretty. The company reported an annual operating loss of 37.3 billion yen (approximately $460 million), the first time in the company's history of reporting such a loss. This is a slight improvement from its adjusted forecast from January, which predicted a 45 billion yen loss.

Animal Crossing 3DS: customize town as the mayor

While Animal Crossing games traditionally cast the player as little more than a wandering vagrant, beachcombing and shaking trees for money, Animal Crossing for Nintendo 3DS will see you as mayor. Yes, Mayor Tortimer's reign of tyranny has ended, and players will get to make a few changes around town. You'll probably still end up shaking trees for money, though.

Animal Crossing Wii Unveiled Next Week, Claims Official Nintendo UK Magazine

Next week will see the formal debut of the long-awaited Wii entry in Nintendo's unique Animal Crossing series, according to a now-edited blog entry from an Official Nintendo Magazine UK editor.

"Animal Crossing Wii will be unveiled at the [Nintendo E3 press] conference," ONM UK online editor Tom East's blog entry formerly read, according to Kotaku. Now, it simply states that "everyone is hoping that Animal Crossing Wii will be there." Read more »

Animal Crossing Wii, Kirby Wii Due in 2008

The long-rumored Wii edition of Animal Crossing will hit Japan this year, according to financial documents released by Nintendo of Japan.

Other Wii titles listed in the document for a Japanese 2008 release include Wii Music, a new Kirby title, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Super Mario Stadium Family Baseball, and Minna no Joushikiryoku Terebi, which is roughly translated as Everyone's Common Knowledge Television. Read more »
