Rebellion has released a swish standalone DirectX 11 PC benchmark test based upon its shooter Aliens vs. Predator, available in a 303MB download from FileShack.
The benchmark test requires a graphics support supporting DirectX 11 bells and whistles, which are used to produce such fancy features as tessellation, advanced shadow sampling and DX11 anti-aliasing. After showing a cinematic of xenomorphs on the prowl, it'll tell you your average FPS for boasting purposes. Handy, that, no? Read more »

The four bonus multiplayer maps included in the premium-priced Hunter Edition and UK Survivor Edition of Aliens vs. Predator will be available for all owners of the game to purchase and download next week, according to publisher SEGA.
The "Swarm Map Pack," as it's called, will run 560 Microsoft Points / $7 when it hits PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Thursday, March 18. Details on the maps are below: Read more »

SEGA announced that a new patch for the PC version of Rebellion's Aliens vs. Predator will hit on Monday.
SEGA "will also have news on an additional feature... many of you have been waiting for which is now ready for a closed Beta test!"This is most likely dedicated server support, which was said to be close to beta last Tuesday. Read more »

With Aliens vs. Predator launching in North America today, publisher SEGA has issued a new trailer. This one's meant to showcase the "Species Deathmatch" multiplayer mode--in other words, it's an easy way to see the various ways one can die.
Developed by Rebellion and packing a single-player campaign for each species in addition to seven multiplayer modes, Aliens vs. Predator is now available on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America, with Europe getting it February 19. Read more »

An updated demo for Rebellion's Aliens vs. Predator is now available for download via the PlayStation network, fixing the matchmaking issues that plagued the initial demo releases on PC and PS3.
As with the PC demo, the old version of the PS3 demo has been replaced by a properly working version. A new multiplayer trailer has been released as well. Read more »

The four exclusive multiplayer maps included in the premium-priced and goodie-filled Hunter Edition and UK-only Survivor Edition of Aliens vs. Predator "will become available to everybody else soon after release," developer Rebellion has clarified.
"Downloadable content on day one for those who purchase the special editions will consist of four brand new multiplayer maps: two new Survivor maps and two for the other multiplayer modes," design head Tim Jones explained to VG247. Read more »

In a double-whammy of Aliens vs. Predator news, developer Rebellion has apologised for matchmaking problems suffered by players of the PC demo while a new gameplay trailer explores a terrifying nightclub from the perspective of one poor Colonial Marine.

With exactly two weeks to go until Aliens vs. Predator hits North America, publisher SEGA is unsurprisingly ramping up its marketing efforts. Yesterday, we got a glimpse of Survival Mode multiplayer. Today, it's the Predator Hunt multiplayer mode.

All digital and retail copies of Napoleon: Total War and Aliens vs. Predator PC will pack Steamworks integration, publisher SEGA and digital retailer Valve announced today, meaning that both will require players to have installed Valve's Steam platform.
Both games will utilize the Steamworks platform for achievements, matchmaking, leaderboards, stats, and server-side Cloud data storage, explained Valve. Aliens vs. Predator launches February 16, with Napoleon: Total War coming February 23. Read more »
