Gentle reader, be warmed by the happy ending to the oft-sad story of Alan Wake's PC edition. It once seemed there'd be no PC release at all, but developer Remedy took matters into its own hands. Since then, the team has revealed that it had more than earned back the money it spent making the jazzed-up port within only 48 hours on sale.

Now Remedy has planned a series of PC patches, bringing fixes and changes including a free camera mode, for those who want to really explore Bright Falls.

Alan Wake PC version compared, American Nightmare PC teased

PC gamers have been waiting a long time for their right to play Alan Wake, Remedy's quirky horror-adventure. To compensate for the lengthy delay, the PC version is a "Complete Edition" of sorts, including all sorts of bonuses over the console original. One new PC-exclusive feature makes the game appear dramatically different: a revamped lighting system.

Remedy's Oskari Häkkinen says that the new lighting makes the graphics "even more realistic." But take a look for yourself.

Remedy Entertainment hasn't announced a full sequel to Alan Wake, but suggests that if one does come it won't take nearly as long as the original, and it will probably stay exclusive to the Xbox 360. Origin signs on seven more publishers

EA's Origin distribution service has been busy signing on even more third-party publishers to distribute through the channel. The company has now announced an additional seven publishers, including Remedy Entertainment of Alan Wake fame. Remedy will be bringing the title to Origin as part of the deal.

Alan Wake coming to Steam in February; PC details revealed

Remedy Games is planning for Alan Wake to make his PC debut on Steam this February, the company revealed in a lengthy 'Frequently Asked Questions' session on its own forum.

The post also revealed other details, such as further confirmation that the game will not use Microsoft's Games for Windows Live platform, nor will it be available on Mac. Though Microsoft published the game on the XBox 360, Remedy has opted to self-publish the game's PC version.

Alan Wake coming to PC in 'early 2012'

Alan Wake has emerged from the darkness of console exclusivity and will finally make his way to the PC, developer Remedy Entertainment has announced.

Coming in "early 2012," Alan Wake on PC features the original, critically acclaimed title, first released on the Xbox 360 in May 2010. Remedy also confirms the PC version will include both 'The Signal' and 'The Writer' downloadable content add-ons, as part of the planned release.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare revealed

If you're anything like me, you love you some Alan Wake. There was fear that Remedy's hero would never return from the darkness, but he has emerged to fight once more.

Wake's next adventure brings him to the Xbox Live Arcade in Alan Wake's American Nightmare, which was just revealed during in trailer form during the Spike VGAs. In the game's first footage, Wake reveals an evil copy of himself--dubbed Mr. Scratch--terrorizing the world he inhabits.

Remedy teases new Alan Wake for XBLA

Alan Wake is set to make his return during the Spike VGAs this weekend, but that won't stop developer Remedy from teasing the character's upcoming XBLA debut.

The trailer is extremely cryptic, featuring a moody score and text taken from Wake's typewriter. "There are places in our world where fiction and dreams can come true, powered by the dark energies leaking from beyond," the text reads. "These places are a battlefield in the war between the powers of light and darkness."
