With the month-long 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament set to kick off here on June 11, EA SPORTS--maker of the officially licensed 2010 FIFA World Cup video game--has run a simulation and declared Spain the winner.
The simulation was run "under the same conditions [all 32 teams] will face in the weeks ahead" using the same technology that powers the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game. Read more »

A downloadable demo of EA Sports' 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa is now available to Xbox 360 owners with an Xbox Live Gold membership via Xbox Live and those with access to the PlayStation 3's European PlayStation Store.

Back in January, Electronic Arts revealed it would be celebrating this year's World Cup with a dedicated video game, but didn't offer a look at the game in motion. That changes today, with the arrival of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa "Sizzle Video" below.

As the World Cup only occurs once every four years, Electronic Arts has announced that it will once again be celebrating the tournament with a dedicated FIFA video game.
Hitting North America on April 27 then Europe and Asia beginning April 30, FIFA World Cup South Africa will be available for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PSP--providing footy fans with plenty of time to play out the possibilities before the tourney kicks off in June. Read more »

Originally slated for December, EA Tiburon's downloadable five-on-five football game Madden NFL Arcade has now been bumped up to a Thanksgiving week release.
The powered-up race to 30 points will hit PlayStation 3 on Tuesday, November 24--the PlayStation Store is updating early that week due to the holiday--while the Xbox 360 edition is due Wednesday, November 25. Both will sell for $15 (1200 MS Points).

EA has released further details and screenshots for Madden NFL Arcade, the 5v5 Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network football title it casually announced in August.
"Each team is given four downs to march 60 yards to pay dirt - no penalties or field goals allowed here, pal! Get your Madden NFL fix in a completely new way, with fast-paced games where the first team to 30 wins," explains EA, utterly baffling non-football fans. Read more »
