007 Legends developer lays off remaining staff
English developer Eurocom laid off a whopping 150 staff in November after several console projects fell through. The The maker of 007 Legends and Harry Potter for Kinect brought in administrators to help seek profitability and planned a shift to mobile, but it wasn't enough. Today it made the remaining 42 employees redundant and ceased trading, after 24 years in games.
007 Legends dev lays off more than 150
007 Legends developer Eurocom has announced that they have laid off more than 150 people, citing a decrease in demand for console games. The studio dropped its staff to under 50 employees to focus on mobile development.
PS3 version of 007 Legends gets early access to Skyfall DLC, exclusive multiplayer DLC
007 Legends is hitting stores today, and it's clear that the PS3 version of the game is the one to get. Given Sony's ownership of the 007 IP, it's managed to wrangle early access to the Skyfall DLC mission, and some exclusive multiplayer characters.
PlayStation 3 starts 'Day 1 Digital' for retail games
Sony has been taking steps into the digital market recently, selling full retail games on the PlayStation Store and even offering some as PlayStation Plus bonuses. But most of these have been older releases, and today the company took the next logical step in its digital push with a new "Day 1 Digital" initiative.
007 Legends brings back Goldfinger, Oddjob, and Pussy Galore
You didn't think Activision would be silly enough to forget a Sean Connery-era movie in its Bond mashup game, 007 Legends? Today, the publisher has revealed the last movie to be represented in the upcoming FPS: Goldfinger.
That means the upcoming game somehow mashes the stories of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Moonraker, License to Kill, Die Another Day, and the upcoming Skyfall. Why, as One of Swords points out, that means a single movie from every Bond actor will be represented! (Although Daniel Craig will play Bond throughout the entire adventure.)
Activision announces Wii U lineup
Apparently, Activision has a lot more support planned for Wii U than just Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. At Nintendo's press conference today, Activision confirmed that pretty much all of their upcoming games will be hitting Nintendo's new console. Skylanders Giants is coming to Wii U, although it's unclear if it will take advantage of the GamePad's built-in NFC functionality.
007 Legends licensed to die another day
James Bond's merry adventures in Die Another Day and Licence to Kill will appear in the movie-spanning FPS 007 Legends, publisher Activision announced today. Those are the Timothy Dalton film with the scuba diving and the Pierce Brosnan one with Halle Berry and all that ice, if you're slack on your Bond.
007 Legends pre-order bonuses let you play dress-up
Agent 007 is known for being a snappy dresser, with various tuxes that inevitably become grazed by bullets. Activision Blizzard announced today that in 007 Legends, two retailer-exclusive pre-order bonuses will let you don the dapper James Bond suit or imitate one of his less attractive enemies.
007 Legends adds Bond writer, veteran actors
007 Legends seems like it could just as easily be called "James Bond 101." The game is covering a wide swath of the Bond canon, for you kids who only know of the recent films in the decades-old franchise. And to that end, Activision has announced a few more pieces of the legacy to lend it authenticity.
007 Legends reveals On Her Majesty's Secret Service
On Her Majesty's Secret Service has been revealed as the second film James Bond will face-shoot his way through in Eurocom's multi-movie merry romp 007 Legends. You remember, the one in the snow with the skiing bit with guns.
007 Legends preview
QUICKTAKE: 007 Legends reboots the classic Bond films to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 007 franchise, chaining five Bond films together as individual multi-objective missions. Developer Eurocom has cast Daniel Craig in the lead role, however, with no plans of unlocks for Roger Moore of Sean Connery. A sixth mission will be available as DLC soon after the game launches in October.

Bond is back. Again. To tie in with Skyfall, the newest 007 adventure, Activision is working on 007 Legends--a game that compiles some of Bond's greatest moments. Today, the publisher showed off the groovy Moonraker level. Then, it's time to unsheath Infinity Blade 2 again, with a big content update happening later this week. Finally, find out what's dropping this week.
Check out today's episode of Shacknews Daily.

Report: 007 Legends to have Kinect support
Prep your best Sean Connery impersonation, folks--because 007 Legends appears to support Kinect. A retail listing for the newly announced Activision game outs support for Microsoft's hands-free motion system.
Given the total lack of information surrounding the game, it's unclear how Kinect will be used. Will there be motion games? Or, will it simply take advantage of voice commands?
