Awards season for video games doesn't just touch on our isolated corner of enthusiasts. Those who make their living penning scripts have gotten some recognition from the Writers Guild of America, and "Outstanding Achievement in Video Game Writing" is its own category.
English developer Eurocom laid off a whopping 150 staff in November after several console projects fell through. The The maker of 007 Legends and Harry Potter for Kinect brought in administrators to help seek profitability and planned a shift to mobile, but it wasn't enough. Today it made the remaining 42 employees redundant and ceased trading, after 24 years in games.
007 Legends developer Eurocom has announced that they have laid off more than 150 people, citing a decrease in demand for console games. The studio dropped its staff to under 50 employees to focus on mobile development.

Apparently, Activision has a lot more support planned for Wii U than just Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. At Nintendo's press conference today, Activision confirmed that pretty much all of their upcoming games will be hitting Nintendo's new console. 007 Legends seems like it could just as easily be called "James Bond 101." The game is covering a wide swath of the Bond canon, for you kids who only know of the recent films in the decades-old franchise. And to that end, Activision has announced a few more pieces of the legacy to lend it authenticity.

Developer Eurocom has cast Daniel Craig in the lead role, however, with no plans of unlocks for Roger Moore of Sean Connery. A sixth mission will be available as DLC soon after the game launches in October.
