The controls work really well, you've got your basic ASDW movement setup + mouselook (I did have to flip both horizontal and vertical mouse axis for it to feel natural, although I usually don't bother). The art style seriously rocks after you get past the intial shock. I do wish they'd kept all the cinematics realtime, this is yet again one recent game where the ingame visuals look a ton better than the crappy prerendered cutscenes. You're doing something and it cuts to a prerendered little video, and the video is just the exact same scene you were just looking at, only it looks worse. Why even bother?
The game reminds me more than a little of Beyond Good and Evil. So if you liked that game, you owe it to yourself to try this one out.
Unfortunately, I'm betting a lot of people will completely overlook this game, for various reasons. If you can't even be arsed to try out this demo you might as well turn in your gamer card right now, quit bitchin' about all games being sequels and put NFL $year+1 on preorder.
