I'm a Microsoft fan boy. I own a Xbox 360, Windows 8 computer, and a Windows Phone. From my experience with the new windows interface (the name that Microsoft gives to the tiles interface) the reason that I feel it doesn't work on the Xbox 360 is because you cannot customize your tile placement like you can on Windows 8 and Windows Phone. In the latest Xbox 360 update there is now a new tile called My Pins where you can pin your go-to apps/games. It comes up as one of the tiles after you log in. It does cut down on the time navigating through the menus and I highly recommend everyone using this feature. What Microsoft should have done is have the Xbox boot up straight into the My Pins area and let us customize our tiles like they do on the PC and Windows Phone and let us venture out in to the rest of the interface if we wish to discover new content. But that is not the case. Anyway, if you use the My Pins tile the Xbox becomes much easier to use. But still the apps take long to launch and if you want to close one app and go to another prepare to wait a while. It is awfully slow. I am a fan of the Live Tiles on my Windows Phone and Windows 8 PC. It works for me. But on the Xbox 360 it just doesn't. The combo of the 360's aging hardware and Microsoft's decision to not let us customize Tile placement make the Xbox an exercise in patience. Now I only turn on my Xbox 360 if I know exactly what I want to do. I no longer "explore" for content on it.
