So I'm really happy that you guys aren't afraid to discuss gender in the context of video games but sometimes your discussions of it make me cringe a little! There is a lot of treatment of gender differences between guys and girls as absolute things instead of socialized constructs that should be dissected. For example, I think that the observation that men yell and swear more when playing can be attributed to the fact that socially girls are taught that it "isn't okay" to let out feelings of anger or aggression as a form of stress release and are shunned for doing so, whereas men are encouraged to do it from a young age because it contributes to a culture of competition and dominance. Also, Rob's one-off joke attributing it to sexual frustration, while probably good-humored and well-intentioned, is super dangerous because it opens up the floodgates for women to be attacked in the online sphere because they've somehow had it "easier" when in fact they continue to be sexually harassed and verbally abused in Xbox Live and other games community spaces at a sickening rate.
I also would've liked a little more discussion about how terrifying the super-capitalism of Skylanders is as it just further proves that the major publishers have made it their goal to completely exploit their consumer base, which is scary no matter how addicting collecting the figurines might be.
Otherwise great show though!
