    I think the idea you were trying to get across is that progress is measured in the player's gained knowledge as much as it is in how far you can get.

    Still haven't played it, but that idea definitely mirrors my experience with roguelikes, where you will likely spend a considerable amount of time getting killed and starting over, but every time you play, you learn a little more and understand the game world a little better, which is what ultimately enables you to reach the next goal.
